September Empties 2016

september empties

Working my way through the beauty world one product at a time. This month I’ve got some products that took me a long time to work through, so it’s bittersweet to see them go. It’s amazing how each month I always manage to finish I number of products, makes me feel good inside and like I’m really using the things I’ve spent my hard earned money on!

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

I fell in love with cleansing oils when I tried the ever so popular DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I’ve tried a few others since then, but none have been as good, including this one from The Body Shop. The Camomile Cleansing Oil has a floral fragrance that I found unappealing, and it didn’t remove all of my make up. I like to do a double cleanse, but sometimes just don’t feel like it. With this, I pretty much had too if I was wearing a full face of make up.

REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

Because this mask was expensive, I tried to not use it too often, even though I loved it. My first REN product, the Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask opened my eyes to the world of chemical peels and exfoliation. I love the way the mask made my face tingle. It exfoliated the top layer of skin, helping to get rid of dry patches and scarring. I even had my boyfriend using it, and he loved it! I will buy again if I can’t find a cheaper alternative.

Maple Holistics Silk 18 Conditioner

Even though I found a shampoo and conditioner I really loved, I still wanted to try something new when I ran out. What can I say, I’m a beauty blogger! I found the Maple Holistics Conditioner to be not moisturizing enough for my dry curly hair. If you have really thin hair that gets weighed down easily this would probably be great for you. Instead, I’m going back to my one true love.

PUR Fully Charged Mascara

I have some pretty annoying eyelashes. Sorry lashes, but it’s true. I find they never stay curled, mascara flakes easily, and they go in all different directions. Formula wise, I did like what the Fully Charged Mascara did for my lashes. It went on smooth and gave my lashes a thickness they otherwise lacked. It was easy to remove and didn’t irritate my eyes. I found my lashes didn’t stay curled much though, but that’s pretty average for me. The large wand was also hard to use on my tiny eyes. It took awhile to dry out and get clumpy though, so you get a lot of use for the price!

Jeffrey James The Eye Gel

After dealing with annoying white bumps around my eyes for years, I started using an eye gel and it changed everything! I guess the skin around my eyes was just too sensitive for an eye cream. Since I’m only 25 I don’t need anything too intense around the eyes, just want something preventative. I loved the Jeffrey James Eye Gel because it was really light weight around my eyes but still gave them moisture. The cooling, cucumbery scent was a plus! I want to repurchase this or a similar product soon!

Colour Pop Eye Shadow in Bill

So sad, I went to use my Colour Pop shadow in Bill and it had weird white crusty bits on it…not putting that near my eyes! I loved this color and formula, so it’s a shame to throw it out but I can also get another since they are so cheap!

  1. Great empties review! I used the PUR Fully Charged mascara the other day, and I like it though like you, I’m not a fan of a big wand. I’ll steer clear of the TBS Cleansing Oil, I guess. I get milia too, and my aesthetician said the same thing, switch to an eye gel.

  2. Ohh yes I had to read this whole thing as soon as I saw the REN mask! I’ve had two sampler sizes of it, love it! =D Great post. It’s always rewarding to throw out an empty product (unless it’s limited edition and you know you can’t get it again. Pretty sure that’s gunna happen with my highlight ;-;)

  3. I really like the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil too – very effective but gentle.
Ooh I have the REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask waiting to be opened soon. I’m really looking forward to it – have heard so much great stuff about it.

  4. Great empties! I LOVE using cleansing oils, too, and am currently going through my second bottle of the TBS cleansing oils. I never expect it to remove my eye makeup (like mascara. I always followup with eyemake remover) so maybe that’s why I wasn’t disappointed with it. What’s your favorite cleansing oils?
