Well this post was supposed to go up Friday. Then I didn’t write it. Then I had to go home for a long weekend for my brother’s wedding so I didn’t even come close to writing it. Here we are now, and I’m finally getting my April Empties up. Better late than never! This month’s empties bag is full of some good bits, some that were very, very, VERY well loved. Even if I love a product, it feels a little good to use it up. Shows I got my moneys worth!
Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer
The salon I used to go to always used the Aveda Be Curly line on me when I visited. After running out of my Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls, I thought I’d try out the Aveda Curl Encahncer since my hair always looked great leaving the salon. I found the product too liquidy that it was messy to apply and didn’t really give my hair the hold it needed. I’ve since switched back to Pillow Soft Curls.
Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath
I got pretty sick the week before I had a bachelorette party to go to, so it was vital I feel better. I’d picked up two small packets of Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath from Vitacost early in the winter in case I got sick. I didn’t end up getting sick all winter though, so I still had them around. I took two baths a few days apart. The Mustard Bath is a disgusting yellow color, but smells minty and refreshing. I’m not sure it made me heal any faster, but it was soothing to use and helped my stuffy nose a bit.
Laura Mercier Loose Mineral Powder
I cannot believe how long the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder lasted me, but I guess at first I wasn’t using it every day. The past year I’ve become ever more into mineral powders, and I want to try them all! The Laura Mercier powder was perfect, and I would definitely repurchase. It blended it well and looked so natural on the skin. It feels good throughout the day and lasts really well.
Glo Minerals Face Primer
I some how ended up with a bunch of face primers, so I am happy to have finished one! I don’t like having too many of one kind of product around. The face primer from Glo Minerals came with their Flawless Finish base products. It was a great primer under all kinds of make up because it wasn’t heavy or sticky or slippery. I applied mostly on the center of my face. I never had any issues with make up looking weird over top of it.
Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Ginger Flame
At first, I LOVED this cream shadow from Cover Girl. The shade Ginger Flame was a light, shimmery pink that really brightened up the eye and looked great paired with gold or copper shadow. It very quickly dried out on me, so it’s time to say goodbye. While I loved it at first, it really wasn’t anything that special, I’m sure I could find something better.
Benefit Posie Tint
I had a little set of Posie Tint, Bene Tint and High Beam. Posie was the last to be finished. The shade Posie is a bright pink that makes the cheeks a healthy looking shade of pink. I love how you can apply just a bit of this for subtle color, or layer it for more color! I love Benetint too, but Posie is a bit thicker formula which is a lot easier to use.
Julep Lock Down Your Brows Gel
I didn’t want to admit I’d finished this brow gel, but I had to just give up and let it go. It’s not even that it was SO amazing, it’s just I hate having to buy new things. The Lock Down Your Brows gel is just a clear brow gel to keep brows in place. I love the Benefit Gimme Brow for adding a little color to my brows, but some days I just don’t need to bother and clear is fine! Definitely need to get another clear brow gel, but doesn’t necessarily have to be this one.
Lancome La Vie Est Belle Perfume
I was not financially prepared to run out of perfume this month! Perfume is expensive, and now I need a new one! This perfume from Lancome is pretty well known, and I’m sure a lot of you have worn it before. The scent is very floral, but somewhere in between musty and delicate. It’s not something I usually go for, but it was a great option for something simple and classic. Compared to all the perfumes I’ve ever tried, this one had the best staying power.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Passion
Here’s another product I’m sad to see go, but am very impressed with how long it lasted! I am for sure in love with the Sugar Lip Treatments from Fresh, and Passion was the first one I picked up. The color is a juicy, wine shade that I personally think went so well with my complexion. The balm formula is so easy to apply and feel comfortable to wear all day long. As you can tell this one spent a lot of time in my hand bag since it went so well with everything.
Have a good May everyone!
