May? No, no it can’t be! May already? Man, I am so not ready for May. Mother Nature isn’t either, it’s freezing cold and raining here in Philadelphia! I’ve been a little behind in blog post planning this month as I’ve been busy with other things and too tired to form sentences. This month’s favorites feature a lot of new products I’ve discovered recently. Looking forward to a robust empties post later this week!
Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid
I asked for a few product recommendations, and a number of people recommended the Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid. I needed something like this for my large pores that love chemical exfoliator. After just a few uses I noticed a huge difference. Now, I need to use this every other night or so in order to have the skin I want. It’s so simple to use, but has done so much for my skin. It helps my skin look more fresh and unclogged without any irritation.
Reviva Labs 5% Glycolic Acid Cream
Another product that’s really helped my skin look it’s best this month is the 5% Glycol Acid Cream from Reviva Labs. I’m already a big glycolic acid fan and becoming a big Reviva Labs fan. The glycolic acid in this product makes my face tingle a little, and definitely isn’t for people with super sensitive skin. The chemical exfolation renews my skin, making it always look fresh and glowy!
Chanel Coquelicot Nail Colour
On my nails now is this beautiful red nail polish, Coquelicot by Chanel! While at first glance it looks like a true red, there is something awesome about this color. ‘Coquelicot’ is ‘poppy’ in French. While not as poppy-colored as some other polishes I have, there is just a hint of orange to this color. It’s also not as vibrant red as some other reds. Chanel has created a really unique version of a classic color. Also, the wear on this has been crazy good. No chips just some tip wear and I’m on day 6…
Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Organic Shaving Gel
I picked up a new shaving gel this month, from one if my favorite brands, Dr. Bronner’s! I love their castille soap for washing my make up brushes, and love that they have so many products and scents to choose from these days. The Shaving Gel isn’t really anything like I’m used too, but it gets the job done. I wish the product was a tad thicker, it can get a bit messy….but for the act of shaving, it’s a great natural option.
Tarte Gifted Mascara
It’s weird how at first you can not like something, and then suddenly change your mind… I always have trouble with mascara, but still like trying new ones, especially when I’ve heard a lot about them. There was a good deal on Tarte mascara so I picked up Gifted. Gifted gives me very light, comfortable, everyday lashes. My lashes feel very soft when I use this, making it comfortable to wear all day long. It doesn’t do much for volume or curl, but for at work I don’t really care about that.
Maple Holistics Silk 18 Conditioner
I’m not a huge fan of the Maple Holistics shampoo I’ve been trying, but this conditioner is a great one for most uses. I wash my hair twice a week, and use a deep conditioning mask every 2-3 weeks. For regular washes, the Silk 18 conditioner detangles my hair and makes it soft. It’s not too heavy, but does give my curly hair the moisture it needs to look its best. Well, at least when it isn’t humid!
