Spring is there! I feel like it took long enough! The sun has been shining this week, and it’s making me quite happy, even though I’ve been sick! The cold winter was tough, but it wasn’t as bad as last year. Now that it’s spring, I’m bringing out the lighter colors and springy scents. Today I’ve got my top 10 items you need to get you through the spring. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Pur Foundation, Maybelline ‘Captivating Carnation’, Julep ‘Peony Pink’, Stila ‘Kitten’, Milani ‘Luminoso’, Colour Pop ‘Bon Voyage’.
1. Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume
I’ve been testing out some perfumes this year by purchasing roller balls instead of full bottles. I’d wanted a Marc Jacobs perfume, but there are so many scents to pick from! I went with Daisy since it’s been around so long. The light, fresh, floral scent is great for spring. If like really light scents, this is a great pick. I want to try Honey next!
2. Pur Cosmetics Hydra Fluid Foundation
I’ve been wearing a lot of powder mineral make up lately, but when I’m looking for a little more coverage I opt for liquid. The new Hydra Fluid Foundation from Pur is a great light weight foundation for spring. It looks good on the skin, but doesn’t feel heavy on those warmer days. I like layering a bit of mineral make up on top to keep it matte.
3. Maybelline Color Elixir in Captivating Carnation
In the winter I’m always wearing darker, matte lips. For spring, it’s time to bring out the pinks and the glosses! I love the formula of the Color Elixirs from Maybelline, and the shade Captivating Carnation just screams spring. The very glossy formula stick the lips and actually lasts quite some time. Such a flattering color, especially as a tan develops!
4. Julep Skip the Brush Cream Blush in Peony Pink
I’ve been loving cream blushes lately, and realized I actually have more of them than powder ones! Julep hit the nail on the head with this easy to apply cream blush in stick form. The shade Peony Pink is fun with a bit of shimmer to brighten up the face for spring. I love how it’s easy to throw on and I can use my fingers to blend it out.
5. Stila Kitten Eyeshadow
Ok, Stila Kitten might be a must have for every season, but in the warmer months I reach for it a ton! The highly pigmented, champagne shadow looks so beautiful in the spring sunshine. I love how I can apply it with just a little black liner and it looks SO pretty!
6. Colour Pop Bon Voyage Bronzer
I don’t have much of a tan yet, but I’m attempting the faux glow a bit by adding some bronzer to the mix. Bon Voyage from Colour Pop is the perfect shade. Not too dark, not too light, not too orange, not too grey. They really got it right with this one! I apply to the areas of my face that would get the most sun just to add some color to my face before I get a real tan going.
7. Milani Luminoso Blush
Another blush option, the prettiest, peachiest blush there is. Luminoso is a true peach with some light shimmer. I love how this looks in combination with some bronzer. It helps add some glow to the skin, and is a bit different than your average pink blush. It’s not too pigmented, so you can layer it on for however dark you want it.
8. REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask
For when you don’t want to wear make up, it’s important to have the best skin you can! For me, that means using chemical exfoliants, and this mask from REN is perfect for that. Glycolic Acid helps exfoliate the top layer of skin, revealing the new, glowing layer underneath.
9. Dr. Bronner’s Organic Shaving Gel
It’s that time where I actually have to shave my legs everyday. Meh. I just got this shaving gel from Dr. Bronner’s and it’s an awesome alternative to your usual Skintamite stuff. I have the Lavender scent because I love everything Lavender. I’m getting a smooth shave and love knowing I’m not applying any nasty ingredients to my skin.
10. Glo Minerals Revive Hydration Mist
As the weather warms up, I love a good mist. They are so relaxing…The one I have from Glo Minerals helps add some hydration to my skin when I’m not using as heavy of lotions. I like to apply this after my shower before make up so my skin has some good stuff to absorb before I start laying the foundation on.
