The Slip Dress

This particular style, wildly popular in the ’90s, is making a comeback for 2016. Slinky, sexy, and above-all chic, the slip dress will quickly become a staple in your wardrobe, regardless of season. To seamlessly transition this trend into your spring rotation, try layering. Wear a thin turtleneck underneath or top with a chunky sweater for cooler days. For another, more unexpected twist on the typical slip dress ensemble, try wearing one under a skirt or another dress, leaving a bit of lace poking out beneath the hem. Finish with a cropped leather jacket to add a bit of edge to the feminine silhouette—making for what Stylecaster calls the quintessential date night outfit.

Western-Inspired Booties

Ankle boots are nothing new to the top trends, but this season, the average bootie is getting a western-inspired makeover. Featuring colorful embellishments, intricate stitching, and a sleek, modern shape, these springtime ankle boots are ideal for adding a bit of flair to your favorite ensembles. For inspiration, you can view Lyst’s collection of boots for the season. With a wide range of styles from designers across the industry, you’ll be able to find the perfect spring bootie for you.

A Pop of Orange

This bright hue is predicted to be the color of the spring and beyond. And though orange isn’t typically thought of as universally flattering, designers are showing the hue in multiple shades and tones this season, making it very wearable. For an ideal transition piece that bridges the gap between winter and spring, opt for an orange coat that you can wear on chilly mornings. Once the weather warms up, try this vibrant hue in a chic shirt dress or silk, pajama-inspired pants.

Half-Moon Handbag

Ever since Victoria Beckham premiered her half-moon handbag at New York Fashion Week this past September, industry insiders and fashionistas alike have been obsessed with its unique design—and for good reason. Glamour writes that the half-moon shape has all the key components of a bag of the season: it’s highly Instagrammable, has a distinguishable shape, and is roomy enough to hold all of your worldly belongings. Available in a variety of sizes, fabrics, and colors, this handbag is sure to become your go-to carry-all for spring.

  1. I’m not a fan of the boat bag or wearing nightclothes as dresses lol but I think I can swing a little orange in there 🙂 This was a fun list! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. To be honest, none of those trends suit me though I do wear shades of orange from time to time so maybe I won’t be a total curmudgeon 😉

  3. The slip dress looks like a good trend. I’ll probably pass on the others though. Thanks for making me aware of the latest trends!

  4. I am loving those orange loafers. So cute! And those booties are really cool too. Can you tell I have a shoe obsession? 😉

  5. I love slip dresses but I think it needs to be the right color/fabric to keep from looking like you are wearing a nightgown. He half moon bag looks wonderful and much easier to pull off. I’d love a smaller size in that same shape.
