Sometimes, you gotta buy yourself something fancy. Treat yo self! Spending $43 on one little item I won’t even use everyday is ridiculous, but….it’s so pretty….I’m sure you’ve seen the By Terry Ombre Blackstar cream eyeshadow sticks, and especially the color ‘Misty Rock’. It’s one of those cult products everyone is buying, and I decided to give in and pick one up too. Luckily, I could get it from the Birchbox shop, so I received some points in the process!

The sleek gold packaging just screams luxury. By Terry is a pricy company, and the Ombre Blackstar is no exception. At $43 for a tube, it’s high end, but every once in a while, you gotta buy something nice!

I went with the shade Misty Rock, which is a sparkly, medium purple shade. I love purple eyeshadows, but have a hard time finding ones that are the shade I really like. Misty Rock has a greyish undertone, which I find flattering, and makes it almost neutral.

To apply, I swipe a little onto the lids, and blend it out with a fluffy brush. It’s super simple. You’ve got a little time after applying to smudge and blend before it dries. A little goes a long way, or you can really pile it on to build it up!

So, is it worth the $43? Well, I definitely wish it was cheaper, but I am in love with it! The color is perfect, the formula lasts all day, the packaging is luxorious….it’s a great product. I hope this tube lasts me awhile, but I’ve been using it almost everyday for a week, and I don’t have any plans to stop.

I’d love to check out some of the other colors as well, but I’m not really in the market for another $43 eye shadow right now!
