The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

If you’ve been following along, I’m on a cleansing oil kick. After trying the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, I knew I was on to something. I then tried the Julep Bare Face, and now onto The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Oil. I was a huge fan of the DHC, and thought the Julep was a pretty good alternative. Now, onto a new, pretty budget friendly option…

I had heard a lot of people rave about The Body Camomile Cleansing Oil on blogs, and in YouTube videos. I figured it couldn’t be much different than the DHC or Julep. I finally got around to picking up during a Black Friday sale for 50% off. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price, because, it isn’t really like the DHC or Julep…

Im very happy with the pump on the bottle, it just makes getting product out easy. I pump two to three pumps into dry hands and rub all over dry skin to break up make up. Then, add a little warm water and it lathers up. In that sense, it works just like every other cleansing oil.

My main complaint, the scent. Ugh that scent. I don’t like strong or artificial scents in my skin care. It’s so unnecessary. I find it very fake and overwhelming.

Also, the Camomile Cleansing Oil just isn’t  as good at removing make up as the other two I’ve tried. I usually end up with mascara still smudged around my eyes, and if I wore anything at all heavy, I feel a need to go back with another cleanser.

I like easy products, that’s why I love cleansing oils. They make removing make up so simple! The Body Shop Cleansing Oil is fine, and a good starting point if you’re looking for an easy to find cleansing oil. I’ll finish up this bottle, but overall I wasn’t impressed. Next on my list are the Burt’s Bees and Boscia cleansing oils. Any other suggestions?

  1. That’s too bad that the Body Shop cleansing oil is a disappointment, but since you paid half price for it, it wasn’t a terrible loss. I’ve heard great things about the DHC Cleansing Oil and I know I have a bunch of samples of it. I’ll try it soon!

  2. I had this one too. I always used a separate makeup remover for eye makeup, but I found this cut through face makeup like a champ. The only thing I didn’t like was the pump, actually! My bottle leaked constantly and it was a mess.

I prefer their solid cleansing balm, as it works very similarly, and you can also use it for your eye makeup.
