When I put together my 2015 make up favorites, I realized I hadn’t tried any new foundations in that year, so I am happy to be starting off February with a new foundation! I was sent the whole color range of the new Pur Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation! I’ve tested it out a few times now, and am excited to share my opinion with you! Also check out my review of the Pur Cameo Contour Foundation Stick from a few weeks ago.
The PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation comes in 5 colors ranging from light to deep. It comes in a squeezy tube with a cap, with a clear panel to see the color inside.
“PÜR’s encapsulated water complex delivers Swiss Alps-sourced water to hydrate the skin for lasting radiance while providing silky, medium coverage. HydraFluid water serum foundation is incomparably lightweight yet offers the perfect amount of coverage and satisfies the desire for dewy, breathable, luminous looking skin.”
I have been using the shade light, and feel like it is a good color match for me, but I do not have super pale skin. It is great to see Pur making a range of colors to reach all skintones, but I think a few more shades need to be added to the mix. I am hoping the shade medium will be a good match for me in the summer.
So far, I really like the Hydra Fluid foundation! For awhile I was using the Rimmel Wake Me Up, which I still love, but the Hydra Fluid isn’t too far off. It feels lightweight on the skin, which I’m sure we can all agree is a must. Throughout the day I don’ feel like my skin feels weighed down with make up.
I’ve been using a fat buffing brush too apply. I drop 1-2 drops on, and do about half my face, then another 1-2 drops for the other half. Then I go in with a small amount more on the cheeks where I need more coverage.
The product has a bit of shimmer to it similar to the Rimmel Wake Me Up. I like the glow this gives the skin, especially right now in the winter! I haven’t noticed my usually dry patchy areas showing at all. The Hydra Fluid foundation is supposed to be moisturizing and it really it.
I do find I need to powder half way throughout the day because I get a little shiny. I wouldn’t recommend this to those with oily skin because of that. I feel like my skin looks very healthy, and the make up blends in well to look natural.
I’ve had some bad skin the past few weeks (stress, hormones, superbowl food) so it’s been a good opportunity to test out the coverage! For the most part, I get the perfect amount of medium coverage that lets my skin still show. On harder to cover spots I’ll go in with a bit of concealer, but definitely don’t need it all over the face.
Overall I love how lightweight and hydrating the formula is of his new Pur foundation. It’s pretty fuss free and hasn’t irritated my skin at all. I look forward to experimenting more with it and seeing how it works as we head toward Spring and Summer!
