Winter Hydration Necessities

winter hydration necessities

I’m not sure where you live, but it sure is winter here in Philadelphia. The temperature has been pretty on and off, but we had the first real snowfall yesterday and it’s like 20 degrees out right now. So it’s winter. And just like many of you, my skin gets so so so dry during the winter. I could go to sleep with an oil on my face and wake up with dry skin. It’s bad. It doesn’t help that I have radiator heat too, which is super dry. It’s just dry dry dry. Luckily, I have a number of products helping combat it.

Wen Sweet Almond Mint Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment

I am trying to grow my hair out, again, and that means trying to put hair cuts off as long as I can. Right now I could really use a hair cut, but I’m trying to put it off at least a few more weeks, partly because I just don’t have the time! In the mean time, I’m trying to keep the ends of my hair healthy. I’ve been using just a little bit of the Wen Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment just on the ends about once a week. My hair, while not perfect, is definitely feeling healthier, shinier, and softer.

burts bees cuticle butter

Nails

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

My nail beds look so parched if I don’t make a point to use a hand cream often. While at home I prefer to use something a bit more intense specifically on the cuticle. I love the cuticle cream from Burt’s Bees because it isn’t oily, so I can actually use my hands. While watching TV I just massage it in. It helps my nails look overall healthier, which is a must since I’m usually showing off my manicure!

vita liberata self tanning mask

Face

Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask (Full Review)

In my last winter hydration post I mentioned the Origin’s Drink Up overnight mask. I’m a huge fan of overnight masks now. This one from Vita Liberata is pretty similar, but has an added bonus; self tanner. It adds a little bit of glow to the skin overnight while adding moisture to the skin.

julep restorative milk

Face

Julep What Your Skin Needs Restorative Facial Milk (Full Review)

I love facial oils, but I feel like they haven’t been doing much for my winter skin. Luckily this new product from Julep has come into my life which has replaced a lot of the oils I was using. While it’s called a milk, it’s mostly a combination of a bunch of skin loving oils. I use it a few times a week and can really feel my skin drinking it up.

jack black lip balm

Lips

Jack Black Lip Balm (Full Review)

Dry lips are the worst. I think everyone has their own favorite lip balm, but mine is for sure the Jack Black balm. I’ve been using it for a few years now, and whenever I go to something else, I go right back to Jack Black. It’s the only balm I feel like actually fixes the chapped lips, rather than just covering them up until it wears off.

giovanni raspberry lotion

Body

Giovanni Raspberry Winter Hydrate Body Lotion (Full Review)

The skin on my body get so dry sometimes that it hurts. I’m terrible at remembering to put body lotion on though, which is crazy. Obviously if I just put it on it would help! My body lotion of choice right now is the most delicious smelling thing from Giovanni. I love raspberry scents, so that helps me to remember to put it on.

  1. I agree that everyone seems to have a different lip balm favorite! The winter lip product I swear by is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. It’s a little heavy for the day, though, so I mostly just wear it overnight.

  2. I feel you about winter, I live in Upstate New York and it is getting pretty cold and blustery here! And man, my skin is feeling it. I also love that lip balm, and I feel like I need to pick up that cuticle cream! The skin around my nails is really getting dry, and could use some serious TLC.

  3. Great choices! I love anything and everything from Wen. Sweet Almond Mint is my favourite Wen fragrance for this season.
