My mom got me cat towels for Christmas.
I’ll never get over the joy of finishing beauty products. I wish I could go through make up quicker, but I don’t think it’s possible to finish an eye shadow. I swear. Luckily I have plenty of skin care and hair care to post about! I like to finish 3-5 items a month, which I usually get very close to, just like I did this month!
Natural Factors Biotin 300mcg
While this is essentially just an (empty) bottle of pills, I bought it for beauty reasons, so I’m including it here. I’ve always had very brittle nails, and am trying to keep my hair strong and healthy so I can grow it out. I picked up these Biotin pills from Vitacost to see if they would help. I thought they weren’t doing much, but in the last few weeks without them my nails have been falling apart! I picked up a new bottle, and went up to 1,000mcg.
Giovanni Super Smoothing Anti Frizz Serum (Review)
I’d say 40% of the time I just really don’t want to do my hair. If I’m tired, or I’m not planning on seeing anyone important that day, it can feel like a lot of unnecessary work. On those days, I like to at least throw a little anti-frizz product in there to keep things…maintained. The Giovanni Anti Frizz Serum gave my hair a little something to hold onto during the day, but didn’t make my hair feel sticky. Also, it doesn’t have much of a scent, which I prefer.
Andalou Naturals Creamy Clay Mask (Full Review)
I have a goal to finish up a few face masks in the next few months because they are getting old (and want to try new ones). I really loved the Creamy Clay Mask from Andalou when I first got it because I found it was really making a difference in my skin. I’ve since discovered the Giovanni clay mask, which I like a lot more.
Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo (Review)
I was only using this shampoo part time, it was more for my boyfriend, but I did use it, and still felt like I needed to talk about it. The coconut scent of this is very fake….but delicious? I don’t know, I really liked the scent. I found it very harsh for my hair though. While it got my hair very, very clean, it made it feel very dry, and I needed to follow up with a large amount of conditioner. It says it’s supposed to be nourishing for dry hair….but I beg to differ.
Sally Hansen Super Shine Top Coat
While it was shiny, this top coat sucked. I’d paint my nails, and hours later the top coat would still have not completely set. I think I ended up with smudged nails the entire time I used it. It would also make little bubbles on my nails.
Sally Hansen Maximum Strength Base Coat
As I mentioned already, I’ve got brittle nails. I’ve tried a lot of strengthening base coats over the years, but found they never did much, especially because I tend to paint my nails like every week. I picked the Maximum Strength one from Sally Hansen purely because of the bright pink cap. I’m still on the search for good nail strengthening things though. I liked the Nailtiques one sort of….
