November Empties 2015

november empties

I just had a brilliant idea to tally up all of my empty products of 2015 to see how much I used up. Mostly just to make myself feel good. This was one of those months that I finished up stuff I thought would never end, which is a good feeling, but also sad because now I miss them. Spoiler alert, I’d repurchase all of these items, I loved them all so much!

Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls

Per my sister’s recommendation, I got this big tube of Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls during a sale last year. The light blue goop has the perfect amount of hold while still keeping my curls soft (unless I had too much). Some hair creams can really way hair down and make it feel really dirty after one use. I loved this tube all year long. I purchased a different curling cream just to try something new, and I already wish I’d just bought this instead!

Juice Beauty Reflecting Lip Gloss in Fig

One downside to natural make up is that it goes bad quicker. Once upon a time this lip gloss from Juice Beauty tasted like creamsicles. Now…it doesn’t. Time to say goodbye! Luckily I got a ton of use out of it, and I probably would have finished it all up pretty soon anyway. The Juice Beauty glosses are very slippery and glossy, with a lot of sparkle. The shade fig was a mauvey, wearable everyday shade.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque

This is one of those products that everyone was talking about, and for good reason. The Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque was a life saver this past year in trying to keep my hair healthy so I didn’t need to get it cut too often. I’ve been trying to grow it out, which means I want to keep the ends really moisturized. This mask smells so good, and works great as an all over mask or just on the ends. Sometimes I’d leave it in for 20 minutes, but even just a few minutes can work wonders.

Michael Todd True Organics Citrus Cream Moisturizer

It’s sort of weird how long this bottle lasted me, but I guess I just kept going back and forth between night time moisturizers. Michael Todd was the first natural skincare brand I dived into, and I was never disappointed. I used this as my night time moisturizer since it didn’t have SPF. The citrus scent is one of the best smelling things ever. I found this to really plump my skin up. If I went a few days without use, I could really see a difference once I was using it again. I might just buy another bottle right now as I type this.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation was the first foundation I ever really went WOW with. I picked it up on a trip to Canada, because for some reason it isn’t sold in the US? I love this foundation because it’s easy to blend and gives the skin a natural, healthy glow. With just a bit of setting powder it looks good all day long. I was happy to finish this bottle because the shade was getting to dark for me. I already have another bottle on the go in a lighter shade.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

Everyone has heard of an probably tried the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I got this sample tube from Birchbox. At first, I didn’t really get the hype, then one day I just changed my mind! It goes on like a lotion, but removes make up. Then you just wash it off an can use a muslin cloth so slightly exfoliate the skin as well. I used this while I traveled. It’s great for travel because it’s not gooey or sticky. I will most likely repurchase at some point, but right now I’m experimenting with cleansing oils.

Here’s to hoping I finish off 2015 with even more empties! I already know I’ve got a shampoo, face wash, powder and lotion on their way out!

  1. The Michael Todd citrus scented moisturizer sounds divine! There was a 40% percent off sale at MT for the past 2 weeks. Not sure if it’s still on

  2. Interesting products! Congrats on using them up. I’m a fan of all the Macadamia Oil products. They smell so good to me.
