The Boyfriend’s Skincare Routine

mens skincare

Here is something a little different today…We’re still talking skincare, but this time it’s MEN’S skincare!! It’s taken a little coxing, but my boyfriend Danny has finally started to have a bit of a skin routine. He may not follow it as diligently as I do mine, but it’s at least something. If you’re trying to get your man to start taking care of his skin, these are the products Danny loves to use! Might be a good place to start.

jack black facial cleanser

Wash

Jack Black Daily Facial Cleanser

After a few mistrials, Danny decided the Jack Black Daily Cleanser was the one for him. After finishing up a big bottle, he went on to use a few others he had laying around, and felt they all made him break out. The daily cleanser is very simple, which is great for someone who really doesn’t want to bother too much. It gets the skin clean but he doesn’t find it to be too drying.

jack black moisturizer

Hydrate

Jack Black Double-Duty Face Moisturizer

Double-duty is exactly what a boy needs. I’m not 100% but I assume the ‘double’ is that it is a moisturizer and an SPF? Just like the cleanser, this is a simple product that gets the job done. Luckily it also comes in this huge bottle so no need to have to repurchase often. The Blue Algae and Sea Parsley help keep the skin clear, and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin to wear all day.

derma e tea tree

Treat

Derma E Tea Tree and E Antiseptic Creme

Danny tends to get some pretty intense breakouts a few times a month. I think it’s mostly because he isn’t washing his face at night even though I tell him all the time he has too. To treat breakouts and prevent them, I’ve turned him onto my all time favorite Derma E Tea Tree creme. I have to force him to use toners, masks, or serums, but this he will actually use! Everyday use has been keeping his skin much clearer.

anthony shaving

Shave

Anthony Shave Cream and After Shave Balm

In a dream world Danny would shave everyday, but that just isn’t going to happen. For awhile he would be fine using whatever shaving cream was around, but now that he’s tried a few, he has preferences. The Anthony Shave Cream isn’t thick or foamy, it’s much more like a cream. He just rubs some around his beard and shaves. It sticks to the hair well so he doesn’t have to keep reapplying. This big tube actually lasts quite a long time. To pair, he’s been using the Anthony After Shave Balm to treat the skin after shaving.

  1. I’m so impressed that your BF has a skincare routine. I usually spy my hubby putting coditioner or something on his face. Luckily he has decent skin!

  2. Jack Black sounds amazing! I have never tried their products. The SO doesn’t have a skincare routine beyond lip balm but is supportive of my beauty addiction – which itself means a lot to me lol.

  3. Hahaha my husband refuses to do any sort of skincare. He tried once for me but his skin didn’t like the products and he just gave up. :\ I did manage to get him onto some nice Keihl’s shaving cream though!

  4. My boyfriend keeps complaining about his skin and just keeps blowing off all my suggestions. I keep hoping he’ll finally break down and exfoliate. πŸ˜‰

  5. Men’s skincare is such a mystery to me. Maybe it’s because I have brothers who just don’t care about their skin, but it’s just so interesting for some reason. I’ve heard good things about the Jack Black lip balm, but I didn’t know they did skincare, too! Good to know!

  6. It;s neat to read about a man’s skincare routine — my hubs is so simple, I don’t know how he always has such amazing, acne-free skin! I’m so jealous sometimes πŸ˜›
