The Sunday Routine

beilers donuts

I know I’m not the only one to uses Sundays to catch up on things, but also to take things easy in the beauty department. This past Sunday I documented my day a bit to show you my usual Sunday and how my beauty routine fits in. To start off, we’ve got my usual cup of Irish Breakfast Tea. To pair, a caramel apple donut from the best donut shop in Philly, Beiler’s. Sundays are usually waffle or pancake days, but we happened to have leftover donuts from Saturday so…. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

giovanni shampoo

I usually wash my hair twice a week, ALWAYS Sunday and then either Wednesday or Thursday. My hair gets very poofy and hard to style when it’s clean, so I reserve that hair for Sunday. My shampoo and conditioner of choice these days is the Giovanni Avocado and Olive Oil set. They keep my hair clean but hydrated. I haven’t needed to use a hair mask in months.

I’m trying to get on more of a schedule in my skincare routine. My skin loves to be exfoliated, but sometimes I can’t remember if I’ve scrubbed the day before or not. I try to exfoliate every Sunday for sure so that I start the week off right. I’m using the Avalon Organics Lavender Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub and it gets the job done beautifully.

derma e evenly radiantMy everyday SPF of choice for right now is the Derma E Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Creme. It’s keeping my skin flake free as we had toward the colder months. I plan to do my full routine at night, so for now we’re just doing the SPF and an eye cream.Β  sunday no make up

I used to think I had to wear make up to leave the house, but now I try to never wear make up on Sundays unless I’m seeing people I know. I think it’s important for my skin and mental health to have a day make up free. Let those pores breath baby!

Sundays are for laundry.

And grocery shopping.

baking cookies

After what felt like forever doing errands, it’s finally time to settle in for the rest of the day. It’s that time of the month so I’m making chocolate chip cookies! While I did this the boyfriend made beer. Gender roles much?

nail polish

What Sunday wouldn’t be complete without a manicure!

julep simone

This week I went with Julep Simone. It’s a beautiful like purple shade, one of my all time favorites.

I take a bath every few weeks. I’m not a huge bath person, mostly because I just get really hot and bored. Since it’s that time of the month I thought I’d force myself to relax for a bit! My bathroom is so sad, so I like to turn the lights off and put lots of candles around to make it look more pretty.

aura cacia warming balsam fir

For my bath I went with the Aura Cacia Warming Balsam Fir mineral bath! It smells like christmas trees and is so relaxing. I love this scent! The product disperses into the bath really well and doesn’t leave a residue on my tub.

giovanni detox

Sundays are the perfect days for a mask. This time around I went with the Giovanni D:tox Purifying Mask. This clay mask draws out impurities but doesn’t dry out my skin. I love this for days where my skin isn’t looking it’s best, or if I want to prevent anything from popping up over night.

  1. Sounds like a great day of relaxing and also accomplishment! I usually wash my hair twice a week for similar reasons as you and also to keep my color-treated red from washing out and fading. I need a mani. Maybe tonight.

  2. What a fun pampering session! My hair is poofy on the day I wash it as well, so I make it a point to wash it on days before special days out, and not on the day out itself.

  3. Your nails are so pretty! I’ve been dying to do a manicure on my nails for at least a week now! I’ve just been so busy that I haven’t had time. But every time I see a fresh manicure, I’m tempted to drop everything I’m doing and grab out my supplies! πŸ˜›
