September Favorites 2015

september favorites

Meant to get this post up earlier this week but I was at a conference for my real job and was way too exhausted! Here we are with another favorites post…don’t you just love this time of the month? I had two trips in September, but barely wore make up on either of them, so this month’s favorites is more skin oriented. A few new products, and a few old ones I have been using almost daily!

homemade body scrub

Trip #1 this month was my cousin’s bachelorette party! We all headed up to the Hudson River Valley for a weekend of wine, painting, cooking, hiking, and lots lots more wine. It was overall a lovely weekend making new friends, catching up with family and celebrating our soon to be bride! As a parting gift, my other cousin, the bride’s sister, made us salt scrubs!! Olive oil and salt mixed with some rosemary essential oil…it has quickly become a favorite for me! Once a week or so I scrub down my legs and arms. This is packed with olive oil, which leaves skin hydrated and soft. You can find more of my cousin’s DIY adventures on her blog

Now onto the things you could actually buy ๐Ÿ™‚

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes

I pretty much stopped using make up removing wipes a few months ago since they aren’t the best for your skin and they are definitely bad for the environment. Since I was traveling, I didn’t want to deal with bringing too many products so I picked up a pack of these coconut scented wipes from Pacifica. They don’t remove make up very well, but that’s because they actually aren’t meant for that. These were great during my travels to freshen up in the middle of the day or to cleanse my face quickly at night when I couldn’t be bothered to do much else.

Derma E Tea Tree and E Antiseptic Creme

I did a full post on my new favorite night cream, the Derma E Tea Tree Antiseptic creme a few weeks ago. My life has changed now that this is a part of it. My skin has been looking so much better, and so it my boyfriends! I love how it moisturizes and treats acne all in one. It’s an easy product to use and works so well. The giant tub will last forever!

Model Co. Party Proof Lipstick in Kitty

I had Kitty by Model Co sitting around forever because I thought I had a similar shade in my collection I was already using. Well, I’m so glad I pulled it out because now it’s one of my everyday favorites. The pinky nude shade adds a bit of color with a bit of shine so it’s so easy to wear and looks great. The formula is super creamy and lasts quite a long time. I’m about half way through the tube already, I wouldn’t be surprised if I finish it soon.

Benefit Posietint (Mini)

I finally figured out the best way to apply Posietint, and now I never want to stop wearing it. Instead of apply the wand right to my face, I’ve been using my Real Techniques Stippling brush. I sweep some product onto the brush and stipple away. The peachy pink shade looks very natural when blended out. I love how it looks with slightly tanned skin, which I guess I won’t have for much longer ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  1. I’m going to check out the bride’s sister’s recipe for body scrub. It sounds divine! I also love the shade Kitty of the Model Co lipstick, so pretty!

  2. Great tip on applying the Benefit tints. I struggle with the wand and it is either patchy or too much. I’ll try this out – thanks!
