September Empties 2015

september empties

Beginning of October…you know what that means! It’s time for September Empties, and coming next week will be favorites! I thought I was having a super light empties month, but when it came time to snap pictures for this post I realized I had enough things to justify writing about it. I always manage to use up 5-6 things, even if some of them are small!

Kiss My Face Natural Liquid Rock Deodorant

I definitely took a risk switching to a natural deodorant. Would it even work? Well, unless no one was mentioning a smell, I think it worked!! I chose the Kiss My Face Liquid Rock after reading various reviews online. It’s a bit to get used to since it’s a roll on liquid. I will mention I wore this through 5 heat waves this summer! It is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant, so there may be a bit of sweating going on, but for the most part I was really happy with this!

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap in Peppermint

I’ve been a lover of Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap since I was a baby. It was the soap my dad used, so I associated the smell with him. Now, I use it to wash my make up brushes! It is my number one soap to use for make up brushes. It works SO well at getting all the make up off. It can be a bit drying on the skin, so I stopped using it as a body wash a while ago. I’ve now got a bottle of the rose scent, but all the scents work like a dream.

Starlet Cosmetics Eyeliner

I think I won’t have to buy black eyeliner for quite a long time….I got this eyeliner in an Ipsy bag, and then I got another, then another, then I won one. It’s finally time to say goodbye to this little stub. It was just getting too hard to use. This eyeliner was fine, but I wouldn’t suggest it nor buy it again. It was creamy to apply, but would almost always end up smugged around my eyes. It wasn’t as black as I’d like either. Let’s hope one of my other random eyeliners is better!

The Balm ‘How ‘Bout Them Apples?’ Blush Sample in Pie

SO sad to see this go!! I got this sample from an Ipsy or Birchbox. I’ve loved a lot of other The Balm Products, and had seen the full palette around the blogosphere. I thought it looked kitschy, but after using up this sample…I need the whole palette! The shade Pie was a pinky-red shade with no shimmer. For the summer it was the perfect shade. I used a stippling brush to apply. The product was creamy and blended out well on the cheeks. Probably the last thing I need is a full palette of cream blushes, but…it’s so cute!!

Primavera Rose Pomegranate Intensive Renewing Cream

I love have samples around that are the perfect travel size. I had this Primavera cream in my travel bag for awhile. It’s packed with good for skin ingredients, and didn’t irritate my skin. It was light weight and had a slight rose scent I loved. It was perfect for my travel bag, but I probably won’t purchase a full size because it’s a bit expensive!

Marcelle Golden Glow BB Cream

Here’s an empty I really need a full size of, and luckily I can get it from the Birchbox shop. I ended up with a bunch of BB cream samples, so it took me awhile to get to this one. At first I thought it seemed too dark, but for my tan summer skin it was great. I wasn’t familiar with the company Marcelle, but this BB cream is a winner! It’s got good coverage that I love for the weekends. Also great under mineral powder for more coverage.

  1. I also have that little cutie from theBalm and I have the larger size as part of the How ‘Bout Them Apples blush palette. Adore it and all the others too! The peppermint Dr. Bronner’s was the first one of his liquid soaps that I tried back in college. Oh the memories. Now I’m onto the rose and the lavender scents. My signif other loves almond. They’re all great!

  2. Yay for empties posts! You finished a blush and an eyeliner? You are amazing! I can never finish makeup, only skincare šŸ˜¦ I need to try Dr Bronner’s Castile Soap. I’ve heard it is great for acne-prone and oily skin.

  3. I love the Balm but haven’t tried the cream blushes. I might need to sample one when I go to Kohl’s again. You did great at using up your products. Especially makeup products. Those are the hardest for me to get through since I have too much.

  4. I’m digging theBalm’s products too now. Definitely need to pick up the Dr Bonners soap, I hear great things about it

  5. I have The Balm full sized palette and I am absolutely in love with it! I use it almost every day! You definitely DO need a full sized palette of cream blushes šŸ˜‚
