Let’s just sit and stare at this image for a few minutes. What is prettier than a bunch of nail polishes perfectly lined up? What is pretty than new fall colors?! Butter London and Allure have teamed up this year to bring us a new line of colors for the fall. As I approach the FIFTH heat wave of the year, I’m looking forward to fall. The mornings have been cooler, the shop windows have changed….it’s coming. I can feel it. But first a heat wave. I have been a huge fan of Butter London polishes for years, and this collection doesn’t change that!
At first I wasn’t crazy excited about a few of the shades, but after swatching, realized how unique they were and how great they’d be for fall. There are six colors in the individual collection, as well as four others in the Fashion Lacquer Collection (which are minis). Today I have the six full sizes for you.
Disco Nap- A Charcoal Glitter
This was the first shade I chose to use as a full manicure, because I just HAD to see how it would look on all 10 nails. First of all, the name Disco Nap is awesome. This is a very chunky polish which requires a lot of top coat but it looks SO SO good. It wasn’t as hard to get off as I expected either!
It’s Vintage- Opaque Rust Creme
This is one of the shades I was unsure off. Rust? Ew? But something about it on the nails is nice, especially once the leaves start changing color. It probably won’t get a ton of use, but I’ll definitely give it a go in late October.
I’m On the List- Rose Gold Metallic
This will probably be a popular shade because rose gold is the thing these days. It’s lighter in color than other rose golds I have, so it’s not an exact dupe for anything. It’s pretty streaky, but goes on so opaque in one coat. Great for everyday if you don’t like bold colors.
I had no issues with application for any of the colors. I have worn two shades as full manicures for about a week at a time. I pretty much had no issues with chipping, and mostly just took the polish off because I wanted to change it. If you don’t like doing your nails too often, Butter London polishes in general are a great option.
Lust or Must?– Opaque Charcoal Brown Creme
A better description with would be a dark olive green. I also wasn’t sure about this shade at first, but after seeing it applied I think I’d love it in the winter when I want something neutral. Shown here is one coat, it’s SO opaque!
Statement Piece- Opaque Orange Red Creme
It’s not showing up as orange on camera, but this is definitely a true red orange color. The closest shade I have is American Apparel Poppy, which is the best way to describe it. Poppy colored. I am absolutely in love with this shade, and already want to put it back on my nails. It’s bright and fun, but still a classic red nail.
Nude Stilettos- Sheer Pink Nude Creme
I’m definitely one to usually where bright, fun, eye catching shades, but there is something about this nude shade I really like. Here I have two coats, which is still quite sheer, but can be built up. I used to have a shade from Julep like this that I ran out of. I like shades like this to use under glitter polish. I love a nude nail with glitter, but I like a nice base. Can’t wait to use this under Essie A Cut Above.
Overall, this is a really beautiful collection that I think has a few really good gems, and a few unique shades that nail polish collectors will need to get their hands on. Can’t wait till fall to give them more use!
