Everyone has the shades they reach for the most. They are the ones that are never out of your handbag long enough to make it back to their spot on your vanity. They get really beat up from living in the bottom of your bag. For most people, those everyday lip shades are probably all in the same family. The My Lips But Better Family. Well, so are mine. But I love them dearly so I want to share them with you in case you are in need of a new super wearable lip color in your life.
Red Apple Lipstick Audrey (Review)
The shade Audrey from Red Apple Lipstick is probably their most famous. When picking out colors to try, everywhere I looked people were suggesting Audrey. For good reason! Formula wise, it’s very smooth and silky and wears off evenly on the lips. The color is a pinky mauve, more on the pink side. It’s just enough color to look more done up, but light enough to be easy to wear. The color plus the formula mean you can slap it on without much thought, and not need to worry throughout the day!
Butter London Teddy Boy (Review)
Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon
The Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayons are so easy to apply, and look so amazing on. Teddy Boy is a rosy, light pink shade. The formula is thick so it really sticks to the lips, but is glossier than a lipstick. These babies come with a built in sharpener too, so they are great to throw in your purse for everyday application.
Maybelline Captivating Carnation (Review)
Maybelline Color Elixir
For something glossier, I absolutely love the shade Captivating Carnation from the Maybelline Color Elixir line. It’s pinker than most of the other colors listed here, but still goes with everything. I love the formula of these glosses because it’s really smooth and not too sticky. It seems to last longer than most glosses. In the spring and summer this color doesn’t leave my purse!
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Don’t know what to wear? Go with Revlon Honey. Every time I can’t pick a shade of lip stick, I pick out Revlon Honey. (Notice the stubby looking bullet?) I bring it on every vacation, and it hasn’t left my desk drawer in weeks. It’s much browner than my usual shades, but that’s why it’s so easy to wear. It’s a very My Lips But Better shade. The Revlon Balm Stains leave a little color behind. So after it wears off you’ve still got a bit of color which is great for a work day!
Model Co Kitty
Model Co Party Proof
I neglected this shade for way too long. I thought it looked just like my L’Oreal Fairest Nude, so I threw it to the back of the pile. Then Tati from Glam Life Guru mentioned it, so I brought it out. Well, turns out it’s much more flattering than Fairest Nude. While a nude shade, it’s got just the right amount of pink so look really beautiful. This is a go to now when I’ve got a darker eye and just want a simple lip. The formula is also super silky, love, love, love that for an everyday lip.
