I’ve been slowly working my way through the Andalou Naturals Brightening line and Clarifying line. I’ve had amazing experiences with all of them so far, and am excited to now be trying yet another gem. Today from the brightening range it’s the Turmeric + C Englighten Serum. I have used the serum from the clarifying line before and loved it. Well guess what, I love this too!
From Andalou Naturals: “Fruit Stem Cell Complex, turmeric, and Vitamin C effectively ‘lighten, tighten and brighten’ by targeting hyperpigmentation and UV damage, swiftly neutralizing free radicals, while activating collagen and elastin for even tone and a firmer, smoother complexion.”
The main ingredients here are Vitamin C, turmeric, grape seed and seabuckthorn oil. Any one who knows about skincare will know these are some great ingredients. There are some other good oils and extracts, as well as orange oil which gives a great scent. Andalou Naturals products are Non-GMO, organic, and cruelty free!
I’m usually in a rush in the morning, so I tend to use most of my skincare at night. After cleansing and toning, I apply one pump all over the face. It sinks in quickly, doesn’t feel sticky on the skin and prepares the skin for moisturizer. It has a very light orange scent which is nice but not overpowering.
Vitamin C is good for correcting sun damage and lightening dark spots. Now that it’s summer I’ve been spending a lot of time in the sun, so it’s nice having a product that will be correcting any damage. I find most days my skin looks bright and fresh in the mornings, meaning I don’t apply as much foundation as I used too.
I think with continued use I could really change how I feel about my skin with no make up on. Since I have so little time in the mornings, that would be very great!
I haven’t had any irritation or redness, which is something I love about Andalou products. The ingredients are all awesome and not too harsh, my skin loves it!
I also love the small size of the bottle and that it’s plastic. It’s easy to travel with, and I never worry if I drop it on the bathroom (it happens, very tiny bathroom…)
I really loved the Andalou Willow Bark Pore Pure Serum for when my skin was looking bad (finished that up awhile ago!). I’m think about repurchasing that as well, and alternating between the two depending on my skin. I have also officially decided serums are my favorite skincare item. It used to be masks but serums are so much quicker!
