New Years Resolution Update 2015

It’s July which means we’re half way through the year! I posted my New Years Resolutions in January, so now I’m here with a 6 month update. I almost forgot what some of them were, but I’ve been doing pretty well so far. How are you doing on your resolutions? It can be hard to keep up with, but I find it so rewarding at the end of the year!

1. Drink more water.

So far: Success! Most of the time! I got a cute pink stainless steel water bottle I can bring around with me. I try to fill it up when I get to work and drink the whole thing at work, then fill it up again for the evening. I always have a glass of water on my bedside table so if in the morning there is still water in it I finish that up. Some day though I just completely forget and half way into the work day I feel a little faint.

For the next 6 months: I’ll keep doing what I’m doing and make more of a point to drink and extra glass of water if I know I haven’t had a lot that day.

2. Eat more vegetarian meals.

So far: Eh, I’m doing okay. I’ve found a few easy recipes I like to make that are heavy on the veggies. The problem is, my boyfriend needs a lot of food to really feel full, and a vegetarian meal just doesn’t always do it for him. I want to decrease the amount of meat I eat partly because meat can be expensive, and because I’ve read a lot about the agriculture world.

For the next 6 months: The summer will be easy, fruits and veggies will be so easy to get! Hopefully I’ll be feel very inspired this summer and the fall and winter I’ll have lots of ideas.

3. Read 20 books.

So far: I’ve read 11 books. I actually made my goal on GoodReads 25. According to them I’m 1 book behind schedule.

For the next 6 months: I’ve got so so so many books I want to read, but I’m just not that fast of a reader. I’m sure I can hit my goal of 20, not sure of 25!

4. Go to the movies more.

So far: Up yeah total fail. I think I saw Avengers.

For the next 6 months: I used to live walking distance to a theater, now I have to try and parking in my neighborhood is difficult. There are plenty of movies to watch on HBO and Netflix, I’ll just continue doing that.

5. Try more complicated recipes.

So far: I haven’t tried too many complicated recipes, but I have been trying more recipes, so it’s a start. I finally got the hang of making homemade pasta, so I’ve been doing a lot with that. I’ll like to try some recipes with more ingredients too them. They might not look complicated but they will seem more impressive.

For the next 6 months: I’m thinking I’ll start getting recipe books from the library more often and photocopy some more interesting recipes. I’d also like to gather a few more skills in the kitchen.

  1. I know that I have an epic fail in saying less “I am sorry” because I am Autism mom and feel other things that are struggles or setbacks for me personally! But I will strive to overcome it!
