The other day I did a post about my make up picks for summer. Today I’ve got a few skin and body care items to get you through the summer months as well. I don’t tend to change my skincare as much seasonally as I do with make up, but there are a few items that get more use in the warmer months or get added into the rotation.
Trader Joe’s Nourish Spray Sunscreen, SPF 50
Trader Joe’s may not be anyone’s go to place for skincare, but I randomly picked up the Nourish Spray Sunscreen a few years ago, and just keep going back to it. While the spray element and SPF 50 are great, the main reason I like this is the lack of scent. I hate scented sunscreens for everyday use, as I want my perfume to stand out. I love the spray because it’s easy to apply, and SPF 50 makes me feel extra protected.
Andalou Naturals Untinted Beauty Balm SPF 30 (Full Review)
For the face I definitely prefer SPF meant for the face, as to prevent break outs. In the winter I have very dry skin, but things get much more oily in the summer. I love how this cream keeps my skin matte and protects. It is very thick going on, but actually works well under make up.
Burt’s Bees Brightening Eye Treatment (Full Review)
My undereyes tend to be dry, but in the summer I don’t want a heavy eye cream sitting under my make up. This eye cream from Burt’s Bees that I picked up recently is very light weight but gives the skin some moisture. It works well under concealer and is treating my skin at the same time.
Andalou Naturals Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser (Full Review)
So you really could use any cleaner in the summer, but this one smells like summer so it’s perfect. The bright, cheery, lemon scent is so refreshing and exciting. I use this cleanser after removing my make up, and sometimes in the morning as well. It’s gentle and easy, but smells just oh so good.
Jason Soothing Aloe Vera
We all get sunburns, even when we try our hardest not too. But even when I’m not sunburnt, I love using aloe after a day in the sun. It helps soothe and hydrate the skin which aides in repairing it faster. I got a pretty bad sunburn on my chest last weekend, and the aloe made it feel better and heal quickly. Even on just tanned skin, I find use aloe helps cool things down and keep my tan looking fresh longer.
