I’ve been really savoring the last few pumps of my beloved DHC Cleansing Oil. I didn’t want to risk being left with nothing to remove my make up so I’ve been experimenting with a new make up removal product as my DHC oil comes to end. (I think I’ve got one use left now). My replacement? The Boots Botanics Micellar Cleansing Solution 3 in 1 ALL BRIGHT. (what is that name.) I was actually in Target looking for the Boots Botanics Cleansing Balm but it was no where in site. I’ve like micellar waters in the past so I thought I’d try this instead.
I’ll start with the packaging. I like the overall look and feel of the packaging. It’s simple and sleek, which means it looks nice on my bathroom counter if I leave it out.
The screw top leads to a wide opening. I wish the opening were smaller because it’d be easier to control how much product comes out at a time. I feel like I’m pouring more than I need onto a cotton round.
To use, I just pour a little onto a cotton round and wipe all over the face. It’s crazy how something that looks like water can take make up off so easily!
When it comes to my face, the Boots Botanics All Bright Micellar Water gets it all off fine. Waterproof mascara? Mascara in general? That’s where I run into an issue.
I find even with some rubbing, it just doesn’t get mascara off. Even if I think it did, I’ll wake up in the morning with black smudges under my eyes. Instead, I’ve been using the Lancome Bi Facil Eye Make Up Remover to remove mascara before going in with the cleansing water.
I haven’t used a lot of micellar waters, so I don’t have a lot to compare it too, but I’d say this stuff is just alright. It gets make up off okay and doesn’t irritate my eyes, but I’d prefer something that can get my mascara off too. Think I’ll have to go back to cleansing oils for that!
