I usually try to keep my base products the same on a day to day basis. 1. I find this easier in the morning, because I’m too tired to have to think. 2. I can get to really know products by using them everyday. 3. I really like what I’m using, so why change! I don’t keep a lot of my make up out on my vanity, so every month or so I do a little rotation. This month, these are the products that have been out and been getting good use!
I’ve gotten pretty used to priming my face everyday, if it’s a day I’m going to be out an active. If I’m bothering to do my make up, I want it to last! The Tarte Clean Slate Poreless primer is a heavier, siliconey primer, but it works pretty well for me. I don’t apply a lot, just a little on my nose, chin, and forehead.
I’ve been switching up my foundation pretty often. One week it’s powder, the next it’s liquid. The last few weeks I’ve mostly been reaching for my newest mineral foundation from Glo Minerals. The shade matches my pale winter skin better than my others, plus it’s easy to use. I love that it covers up uneven skin but doesn’t even feel like it’s there.
My skin is usually pretty clear, but when it’s not, it’s NOT. I have also been having a problem with hyper pigmentation lately. That’s where the lovely NARS Creamy Concealer comes into play. It covers up spots like magic. I think I could have used a lighter shade, but before I know it, I’ll have a tan again.
For under my eyes I usually go with something light. I don’t have any dark circles, but I do like to brighten the area up, especially on sleep days. The sponge applicator on the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser applies the perfect amount of product. I just pat it in with my finger. I wish it was a little more hydrating, but I don’t think anything can be hydrating enough for this wintery weather!
I have to keep this blush out or I always forget to use it. First things first, the Wet and Wild Color Icon blush’s are CRAZY pigmented. I could use this every day for a year and not hit pan. What I love about this is the shade, Heather Silk. I think it compliments my skin tone really nicely, and goes well with my favorite lip stick (Revlon Berry Smoothie). One tap with a brush and I’ve got rosey cheeks all day.
Like two days after taking this picture, the top snapped off, but I’m still attempting to use it. Right now I’m pretty pale, and this bronzer from The Body Shop is very light. Pretty much everyday I apply a little to the cheeks and temples just to give some color to the skin.
I don’t highlight every day, but when I do, I always reach for Mary Lou Manizer from the balm. It’s just so freaking pretty!! A little tap with a small brush, and I apply to the tops of the cheek bones. It’s easy to go over board, so I have to be careful. I love the glow it gives the skin, I’ll probably never need another highlighter again.
Even though it’s Spring on…Saturday? It’ll probably be a little longer till I fully switch to a more springy make up look. It’s pretty cold still, and supposed to snow tomorrow, so I really can’t imagine wearing coral blush, or having enough of a tan for my darker products.
