Look at this little chunk of trash I’ve got here! This month I finished up a good handful of beauty and make up products, as well as a little clear out of a few old things. This is my favorite post of the month because it shows I really use the products I talk about. So many bloggers are posting new reviews every other day, and I find it hard to believe they actually use anything up! Well, I love finishing products, even if I love them. This way I can feel better about buying anything new.
You may have seen in my favorites post that I’m using a new body wash. That’s because I finished my beloved grapefruit shower gel from The Body Shop. This scent was just WOW. So fresh and invigorating. Not sweet…more tart and citrusy. Every time I try a new TBS shower gel it becomes my favorite, but this one was REALLY good.
Sometimes I think the most boring product in a beauty arsenal is a face cleanser. Like, how exciting, different, or interesting can one get? I’ve always been a huge fan of Burt’s Bees products, so when I was in need of a new one, the Orange Essence Cleanser looked like it could do the job. This product is packed with natural, skin loving ingredients, and smells just like a yummy orange. I used this daily in the shower. While it may not be that interesting, I would totally buy it again.
Just when I thought this was the never ending bottle of serum, I finished it. I’ve been loving Michael Todd products for years now, and the Hydration Boost serum fit well into my beauty routine. It sank into the skin quickly and blended well with moisturizer. I’m interested to try other kinds of serums, but would definitely suggest this one to someone.
My first attempt at a more natural toothpaste, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Texture and taste wise, this product from Dessert Essence was fine. I was afraid it’d feel weird in my mouth or taste gross. My real problem with it was that the clean teeth feeling just didn’t last long enough. I felt like I had to brush my teeth twice as often. Also, I can tell my teeth are much yellower than before. I’ve switched back to Colgate Optic White which is my favorite from the drugstore. Want to hear toothpaste suggestions though!
Covergirl Clump Crusher Extensions
I’ve gotten closer to finding the perfect drugstore mascara (because let’s be real, I’m not buying a $20 mascara). One day when I was at the drugstore I picked up a second tube of Covergirl Clump Crusher because I had been loving it. Apparently this one was some ‘extensions’ version, but I saw no difference. Clump Crusher gives me clump free, well separated, fluttery lashes. I have a lot of trouble keep my lashes curled, and this mascara is pretty light weight so it doesn’t way them down too much. I’ll forever be trying new mascaras, but Clump Crusher made me realize what kind of wands to look for!
I’m so mad, I didn’t realize how much I loved this product until it started drying out! The full size of this product comes in stick form like the Nars Multiples. This little baby sample was a great way to test it out. I mostly used this on my cheeks with a stippling brush. The rosey color was very wearable and natural looking. It blended out easily and wasn’t too bright or overpowering. I’d definitely consider getting the full size, it’s just so easy to use.
I think this was my oldest nail polish. So I decided I just had to let it go. A few weeks ago I painted my nails with it and it chipped so quickly. For awhile it was my all time favorite nail polish. The perfect pastel bluey green shade. I used almost half the bottle, which is impressive for a nail polish!
Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm
I love honey. I love lip balm. I love Burt’s Bees. Do I need to say more? This is the perfect lip balm, and I definitely need another. I picked a random balm from my stash after I finished it and it just isn’t doing what I need it to.
Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara Gel
Who needs a fancy brow setting gel when you can get this for just a few bucks. (Spoiler alert, I bought Benefit Gimme Brow). Once upon a time this gross bottle had a label and clear product inside. While the wand holds a lot of product (too much for eyebrows) it’s a great alternative if you don’t have a lot to spend.
I didn’t get enough use out of this lip product, and now it smells weird and it keeps separating in the tube. GROSS. While it was good, this was an eye catching product. The pink shade was bold but not too pink and bright. A little went a long way. After applying I’d blot with a tissue and I’d have pink lips for hours. Since it was quite a statement color I didn’t wear it too much, but I should have!
Well kids there ya have it. Another month gone in terms of my trash. Going to miss a few of these goodies greatly, and looking forward to getting to know their replacements better. Hope you have a good, product filled month!
