Sometimes I randomly pick up items from the drugstore with very little research, luckily, sometimes they work out in my favor. Once upon a time, Tati from GlamLifeGuru mentioned that the Garnier Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray was an almost exact dupe for the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish. I thought “oh, that stuff seems cool, maybe I’ll pick it up.” And before I new it, it was coming home with me even though I didn’t really know what a texturizing spray was. Also, texturizing isn’t a word.
Before and after, about 20 mins after waking up, lol.
So, I usually have curly hair. I use mousse, gel, whatever to give it shape and hold. But, I really love to straighten my hair. It’s easier to handle, looks nice, and well, it’s different. Sometimes though, I want more volume, more grit, more fun messy hair.
The Garnier Texture Tease does exactly what I wanted it to. It’ sort of like a hairspray that makes your hair feel dirty. This gives it hold and texture. I think it makes my straightened hair look more natural, and I’m less worried about it getting messed up, because I kind of want it messy.
The spray makes my hair feel a little sticky, but that’s understandable. I just wash my hair the next day to get the grit out.
My only problem is the smell. Garnier products usually have a very strong, sort of fake apple scent. The smell is so strong I can kind of smell it all day long. I’d definitely prefer a nonscented product. Maybe the Bumble and Bumble one is unscented? I’ve never used it.
For just a few bucks, I think this is a fun hair product to experiment with. Also, I really trust GlamLifeGuru with her reviews, so if she says this is a good dupe for the B & B, I believe it.
