This month’s empties also includes a bit of a make up clear out. Every few months I go through all my make up and think about how long things have been around. I’m usually quite terrible at getting rid of things, but since it’s the end of the year I was really thinking I just needed to get rid of a few items that had been hanging around too long. I’ve also got a few small empties as well from products I used up this month!
Burt’s Bees Radiance Lip Shimmer
This one is more of a clear out. I can’t remember when I bought it which means it was a really long time ago, and I’m just not using it. I love the Burt’s Bees tinted Lip Shimmers, but this one is just a clear shimmer color. I find it too frosty, and I just never reach for it.
NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base
Well this tube has seen better days…If you’ve been thinking about buying this but are scared of the price tag, don’t be. This tube lasted me FOREVER. 2 years? Maybe more? Product just kept coming out! I think there is still a little left in there but the tube was looking horrible and the product was starting to dry out.
Lancome Hypnose Mascara
I usually love little tubes of mascara because they last a surprisingly long time, but this tube from Lancome sure didn’t! I only got 2 or 3 weeks use out of it before it got really sticky and clumpy. I liked it at first though except it was a bit heavy on my lashes. I prefer something less thick.
Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap in Rose
Your make up brush cleaning wizard. If you haven’t tried Dr. Bronner’s on your make up brushes, or haven’t tried it at all, then you’re really missing out. I kept this tiny bottle of the rose scent in my medicine cabinet for brush washing. It gets all the built up gunk out with ease. I also use Dr. Bronner’s to wash almost everything else that needs washing.
Honeybee Gardens Nail Polish Remover
Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised this nail polish remover from a natural brand actually worked. I really didn’t think it would! It takes a bit of work compared to your average remover, but eventually you’ll be polish free. I found it quite moisturizing compared to other nail polish removers which is great since I paint my nails so often!
Davines Lovely Curl Shampoo and Conditioner
I some how ended up with deluxe samples/travel sizes of 4 different shampoos and conditioners and I now finally used one! This little cuties are from Davines. I read online somewhere once this line was the best for curly hair. I officially can say there is no such thing. I didn’t notice any difference in my curls while using this. I will say they smelled great and got the job done but for the price tag, I wouldn’t bother.
Paco Rabanne Lady Million Perfume
The love of my life purchased for me by the love of my life. My boyfriend bought me this perfume for our one year anniversary a few years ago. I absolutely love it. I found the scent so addicting. It’s sweet and citrusy…it’s fresh but fun and exciting. I don’t see it in stores anywhere anymore, but I can still get it online. I’m thinking I need to buy another bottle, but I’ll wait till I finish my rollerball which could be any day now.
Now on to the real make up clear out…
Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Acid Rain and Hot Pants
From the old packaging I’m sure you can guess these are pretty old. Like actually really old. I’m just not wearing lime green and pink eyeshadow anymore (not sure when I was?) so it’s just time to throw these out…
Revlon Colorstay Gel Liner
I was actually using this for quite a bit when I got it, but then I just sort of forgot about it and it’s pretty dry now. I also prefer liquid liner. It was good though. I was surprised how easy it was to use and the brush it comes with isn’t that bad.
Benefit Boing Concealer
This concealer is very sticky and heavy. It covers well because of that, but I’m usually going for a lighter more natural look. The shade I have is also too dark for me unless I’m tan, which I really only am for 2 months of the year. Time to go!
I got this baby Benetint from a Birchbox awhile ago. I had a bigger bottle of it already so I just filled up that bottle with this little one. I really love Benetint actually, I think the color is so flattering.
Well that’s a wrap for empties. Looking forward to using more and more stuff in 2015. My skincare collection has gotten out of hand and needs to be widdled down.
