New Years Resolutions for 2015

And just like that, it’s 2015. Happy New Year everyone! I honestly think 2014 was a really good year for me, so I can only hope for the best in this coming year. I always find the new year exciting, probably partly because my birthday is early in the month. I love having a January birthday so I can start the new year off with a new age! I was mostly successful in last years resolutions. Hopefully I can stay focused and be successful this year as well!

1. Drink more water.

A few months ago I got better at drinking more water throughout the day. And now I’m bad at it again. I want to get back into drinking lots of water a day this year. Drinking water is super important as I’m sure you all know, and it’s a completely free resolution to have!

2. Eat more vegetarian meals.

This also means find more vegetarian recipes (post below if you have some!). I’m not vegetarian, but I do always enjoy when I can find a good veggie recipe. I want to be eating more vegetables in general too. I’m on a budget these days and meat can be expensive, so having more vegetarian recipes should keep my costs down as well.

3. Read 20 books.

In 2014 I read 15 books, and most of them were in the latter half of the year. I’m on a book reading escapade right now and I want to keep it going. Since I’m not in school anymore I’ll have lots more free time to read so hopefully I can boost my yearly book reading to 20!

4. Go to the movies more.

This may seem like a silly ‘resolution’ but it’s true, I want to go to the movies more! I don’t live near a theater which makes it hard, but a little effort should be worth it! There are a few theaters in town that mostly show indie movies (my preference) so I want to start going there more to see all these amazing looking movies. Perfect for date nights too!

5. Try more complicated recipes!

Back to food. Also now that I’m not in school, I will be home for dinner every night! I want to start pushing my cooking boundaries and make some recipes that are a bit more complicated. A few months ago I attempted to make bagels, and it was hard. I really want to try that again and more now that I’ll have more time!

Once again, happy new year! Let me know what your resolutions are, or send me a link to your own resolutions post!

  1. I’m hoping to read more in the New Year too πŸ™‚ Have you tried Audible? I love to listen to books on the drive too and from work. It can never beat reading yourself but it’s a great way to experience more books and make the drive time seem to fly by!
