Another month. December already? Where does the time ago. Apparently it goes into piles and piles of used make up and beauty items! Today, I bring to you my used up products from November. Plus a few I just decided to throw out. Despite the fact that I’ve been using up products left and right over the best few months, it doesn’t change the fact that my medicine cabinet, shelf in bathroom, and extra storage in the bedroom are still busting at the seems. It seems new stuff finds it’s way into my life more than it finds it’s way out. But I’m not sure how. Because I don’t buy a lot.
Lip Smacker Dr. Pepper Lip Balm and the Balm Stainiac Lip Stain
I’m describing these together because I almost exclusively used them together for months. Back in March I started to use this little sample of the Balm’s Stainiac, I think I’d gotten it from an Ipsy bag or something. The color is almost exactly like Benefit’s Benetint, a luscious pinkish red, like a cherry Popsicle. The formula is a bit gel like, making for easy application. It dries on the lips to leave a light stain. On top, I would use a little of this Dr. Pepper scented Lip Smacker. It was the same reddish shade, so it deepened the color and added moisture.
CV Skinlabs Restorative Skin Balm
This little sample is from a Goodebox my mom gave me last year. I received a few goodies from the CV brand, and all were great moisturizers. The skin balm is a multi use thick balm. You can use it on lips, nails, elbows, any super dry skin that needs a little help. I tended to use it a lot on my lips and around my nails, and just let it sink in while I watched TV. Definitely need to buy some full sizes of their items!
The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub
I’m not sure what the best smelling thing on earth is. It’s either The Body Shop Coconut scent or Satsuma scent. Depends on the season I guess. This little travel sized tub of Coconut Body Scrub was kept in my shower at my mom’s house. It was always so lovely to spend a weekend at home and use something delicious smelling. It’s coconuty…but a warm coconut. There is definitely some brown sugar or vanilla in there.
Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream
The cutest pot on Earth! This eye cream from Benefit was fine. Like, it kept my under eyes hydrated and all, but I didn’t notice any difference or anything while using it. I love the make up from Benefit, but I think the skincare can be skipped.
Lumene Time Freeze Firming Night Cream
Over the past year or so I’ve fallen in love with Lumene creams. I had the day and night cream from this line in my travel bag for when I stayed at parent’s houses or what not. The cream isn’t too heavy, but still makes my skin feel hydrated during the night. The scent was a bit strong for me, but not too much of an issue, I’m just super picky…
Revlon Photoready BB Cream in 02
There’s a little of this product left, but it just had to go. I never really liked this BB cream from Revlon. It made me look shiny, felt heavy on my skin, and overall just didn’t feel right. It started to separate and I decided it was just time to go. It was my first BB Cream experience, so I didn’t have much to compare it too, but I’m sure there is something else better!
Keims Peppermint & Macadamia Shampoo
I found it odd to get just a shampoo sample from a Birchbox with no matching conditioner. I have an abundance of shampoo so it was kind of annoying. After finishing the shampoo and conditioner I was using, I switched to this tube and started using the Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque. This shampoo didn’t make my hair feel clean, and dried out the ends (which have since been chopped). It was just a not very good shampoo, not much to report.
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Spray
Ok, this bottle lasted forever. It as in one of the first posts I EVER wrote. And we are finally saying goodbye. I didn’t use it too often, but also the bottle is pretty darn big. This is a sea salt spray you use to give hair texture and a bit of hold. While the salt can be a bit drying, I didn’t notice too much of an issue, plus I’d usually wash my hair after use. I like to use this when I straightened my hair to make it a bit more messy.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque
I think this is one of those products everyone has used at some point. If you don’t own it, your friend does, or your roommate, someone. I don’t have super oily skin, but I do have large pores and break out, so I actually thought this would be a good mask for me. I was wrong. The product is so thick it’s hard to get on and hard to wash off. It was impossible to get it out of the tube. It made my pores look worse…it would fill them with green guck I couldn’t get off from just washing. There is still SO MUCH left in this GIANT tube, I’m just getting rid of it. I’ve got plenty other masks!
Every month I think ‘I can’t possibly finish that much stuff next month!’ but then I do. So, see you next month!
