As my beloved bottle of Paco Rabanne Lady Million perfume disappears before my eyes, I am transitioning onto a new perfume. From Lancome, this is the La Vie Est Belle EDT. It’s pink, it’s got sparkle, it’s down right adorable and girly. I love perfume, and wish I could own every single one, but let’s be real, I don’t have room for them on my dresser. It always takes a while for me to get used to using a new scent, but I just can’t get myself to keep repurchasing the same one. Too many perfumes, not enough bodies.
I’ll start with a quick nod to the packaging of La Vie Est Belle. The sparkly pink and silver box is an immediate eye catcher, and gives hint to the girly, feminine perfume inside. The perfume itself is lightly pink shaded, which honestly looks great on my white dresser. Around the neck of the bottle is a bit of sparkly silver ribbon, the color combination is on point. The spray comes out in an even, light mist.
Now I’m not perfume expert, so I’ll just copy the scent notes from the Lancome site!!
“Magnolia essence thus freshens the most luminous form of iris pallida, perfecting the absolute of white flowers and patchouli essence in an exhilarating harmony.”
Jeez, who writes those things? It’s like perfume poetry. If I had to explain it myself, I would say it is a subtle, easy to wear, floral scent. It’s fresh, not musky. It’s easily an everyday scent, that anyone around you wouldn’t be bothered by.
I tend to go for more sweet scents usually, but having a floral option has been a nice break. It lingers on my clothes but isn’t overpowering. I hate when scents wear off too quickly. I love when I put my jacket on again and there is the slight scent still there.
I received this perfume from a Twitter giveaway with Dave Lackie. Everything in the bag was from Lancome, and so amazing! Have you ever tried Lancome La Vie Est Belle?
