Statement Lips

While it’s always easiest to wear a nude, a light pink, a ‘my lips but better’ lipstick, it’s important to keep a few bold, statement lip colors in your make up arsenal. If I’m wearing a plain outfit, I love to pair it with a bright lip to bring some excitement to the outfit. I also like wearing a bright lip if i’m going to be in a dark room (party, bar, ect.) so that my make up is actually visible! I don’t wear them too often, but I have a few colors on hand that I always go to when I feel like my look needs a little color.

Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Rendezvous- Orangey coral

Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Smitten- Deep pinkish purple

Maybelline Color Sensational in Red Revival- Midtoned red

Covergirl Lip Perfection in Hot Passion- Classic bright red (apparently Taylor Swift wears this)

Mirenesse Laccquer Stain in 4- Bright pink with dark undertones

Red will always be a classic. I love to wear a classic red lip with just some black liner for a classic look. In the colder months I tend to reach for the darker shade a bit more often. You’ll get tones of compliments wearing either color!

The Revlon Balm Stains provide a lot of pigment in a smooth, easier to wear product. Rendezvous is a favorite in the summer months, and Smitten in the fall. The shade from Mirenesse can easily be built up for my color, but one thin layer will last hours!
