The past 3 weeks I’ve been much busier than usual. School is in full swing, I’ve started a new internship, and I’ve been interviewing here and there for jobs. By the time I get home from school or work, I’m tired, and apparently really bad at managing my time. It’s hard to decide where priorities land, especially when it comes to school work that I know I don’t need to do in order to participate, but still feel like I should do. And then there’s eating, sleeping, blogging, eating. Where does the time go?
1. When do I blog?
Last night, Saturday night, my boyfriend and I stayed in doing pretty much nothing. I could have been blogging! But no, I just watched YouTube videos for like 2 hours. Before I was busy, it was so easy for me to fit time in for posts because I was bored otherwise. I want to try and get on a real schedule of what days I devote to blogging and what days I devote to school. Or at least what hours of the day. Writing posts can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on pictures and content. I can definitely fit that in, but there always seems to be something else to do.
2. Reading for fun.
This year I’ve been reading for fun so much more than any year past, and I’ve been loving it. I have SO much reading to do for school, but I still like to pick up a book unrelated to school work and enjoy that. Especially during the summer when I was by the pool, it was so nice! Now I’m starting to run into issues that instead of reading for school I just read for run, because I like the reading more. I only have 6 weeks of grad school lefts (WHAT) so I can just put a pause on the run reading, but it’s hard!!
3. Binge Watching Problems
I find that the more work I have to do, the more likely I am to just binge watch Netflix (hello Gilmore Girls). On a Wednesday or Thursday night my boyfriend is usually working late so it’s a great opportunity for me to watch the stuff he hates. OR I COULD DO HOMEWORK IN THE PEACE AND QUIET. But no. Since my schoolwork isn’t due until Monday or Tuesday, I’m like heyyyy I’ve got SOOO much time!! Then Sunday comes around and I freak out.
4. Waking up early.
Being busy of course also means waking up earlier. And if I get the job I just interviewed for, it’ll mean waking up even earlier. My bed is like super comfy, and I’ve always been one to sleep in. When I have to get up before I’m ready, I end up feeling tired all day long. I try to keep my weekends more free so I can catch up on sleep now. Once winter comes along, it’s going to be even harder to get out of bed!
5. Washing my hair. Seriously.
I’ve got a lot of hair, which means washing it is a ridiculous task. With less free time on my hands, I’m finding it harder to find time to wash my hair!! I’ll plan to wash it the next morning, then realize oh no! I have to finish that paper…Today, Sunday, for sure will be a hair washing day. It’s the only day I can guarantee I have the time. I’m trying to figure it out so Wednesday is also for sure a washing day…I just need a friggin’ hair cut.
