Jeez, finally getting this darn empties post up! Time really got away from me with the holiday weekend, and now it’s already a week into July. Another month, and I’ve finished more products than I remembered. When I dumped out the bag I was surprised to see to many bottles, I thought I’d barely used anything! There are a number of samples too, it’s going to take me forever to use up all these darn samples I have. Okay, let’s get talking about the trash!
CVS 100% Acetone Nail Polish Remover- Not too much to say here, just your average store brand acetone! I like using acetone to remove nail polish because it works SO DAMN WELL, but it sure ain’t good for your nails. I’ll probably repurchase a small bottle of acetone for those really tough manicures, but I’m looking to try something more gentle and natural next.
Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream- I’ve used a number of curly hair products over the years, and this has been one of my favorites. The product is a thick cream infused with argan oil that keeps hair hydrated and helps it to curl. I really liked how this made my hair look, but it was a tad too heavy for everyday use. I found I had to wash my hair more often while using this. I’m currently using a different curling cream, and we’ll see how that goes. Will probably repurchase at some point!
Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer- I actually received this product in an Influenster box last year. I’ll say I tolerated it. The product is a spray lotion that dries quickly so you can put your clothes on right away. Yes it dried quickly, but I didn’t think it did much to moisturize. Also I hated the smell. Also it’s full of gross ingredients.
Johnson’s Baby Shampoo- I don’t have a baby, but I do have make up brushes! Baby shampoo is pretty cheap, and I’d heard good things about using it to wash make up brushes. It worked, but there are better options. I compared this too my Dr. Bronner’s soap and the Dr. Bronner’s works SO MUCH better. Also, why does baby shampoo smell so weird? I can’t stand the smell.
Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment- In my teen years this stuff was a life saver. Over the past year or so I’d been trying to use this up, but it’s expired at this point, and I haven’t really been breaking out. If you’ve got stubborn spots, I highly suggest this treatment. It help spots disappear in days! Now that I don’t really break out, it’s just too intense for any little spots I may get.
Schick Quattro for Women– Not really any empty, but I thought I’d mention it. For…5, 6 years? I used this razor handle and kept repurchased new blades. It’s finally gotten to a point that it’s just broken and gross. Sad to see it go. I decided to purchase a Venus razor this time to switch things up. So far so good, but I honestly really like the Schick Quattro!
Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil- Uhm, this stuff smells like HEAVEN!!! But I won’t be buying a full size. I can get the same job done with coconut oil or whatever others oils I can get at a cheaper price. It really does smell good though…
Lavanilla Vanilla Blackberry Perfume- It kills me I don’t own every single Lavanilla perfume. I love all of them! One of my all time favorite perfumes is the Trish McEvoy No. 9 which is ‘Blackberry and Vanilla Musk’. This Lavanilla perfume is a fruitier, girlier version of that. Will definitely buy one day when I use up some of my perfumes!
Air Repair Rescue Balm- I’m not entirely sure, but I think you’re supposed to use this balm anywhere on the body. Because of the small size, I ended up using it on my lips. I felt it got the job done in terms of hydrating my lips, but didn’t last as long as others I’ve used.
Astara Skin Care Golden Flame Hydration Mask- Not sure what a ‘golden flame’ is in terms of skin care…but this mask sure did make my face burn, so maybe it’s that? I used this mask maybe 4 times, and every time it burnt more and more so I gave up and washed it out. Such a shame because it’s a more natural brand I was hoping I’d like!
A few weeks ago I wash having some major dry skin on my face, I went into Kiehl’s to pick up some samples and see if they would do the trick!
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream- I wish this wasn’t like $35 because I really liked it. After using a number of products, this was what cured my dry skin patches. It felt really like but definitely hydrated the skin.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate- Save your money guys, this is just an over priced facial oil in my opinion. I think every facial oil is the same, and they all do great things for my skin. This Kiehl’s option is just SO expensive though! Go buy yourself some coconut oil instead.
And that’s a wrap! I’ve already got 2 July empties ready to be talked about. I’m moving soon so let’s hope I can finish a TON more products soon!
