Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

If I’m going to talk about a hair care product, I thought I should start with the kind of hair I have. My hair is on the long side, very thick, curly, frizzy and overall hard to manage. It takes a lot of work to look good, so it just ends up in a bun or a braid most of the time. I’m always looking for a shampoo and conditioner regimen that can tame my locks, keep them curly but also frizz free. The Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner were the first set that I ever noticed a difference in my hair right away.

I prefer to wash my hair twice a week. My hair never looks good the day I wash it, so if I wash it too much I’ll just look like a frizzy mess all the time. For awhile I was using a shampoo that was drying out my hair. Obviously drying is bad, but my hair felt clean for a long time so I could easily go a few days without a wash.

I guess it’s no surprise that a shampoo and conditioner ‘infused’ with argan oil would make my hair feel greasy. Using this Organix line, I have to wash my hair every other day, which is pretty darn annoying. My mom has the same problem with this line, that her hair just feels greasy the next day, and we have very different hair.

Despite the greasiness, I feel like this line actually works really well for my hair. The conditioner makes my hair feel so soft and hydrated. Hydrated = No frizz!! I can get away with not really styling my hair sometimes, which is a miracle.

Oh these smell REALLY good too. A little perfumey, but good.

Even if these products work for me, I can’t recommend them. ‘Organix’ sounds a lot like ‘organic’ doesn’t it? Well, guess what, they aren’t organic at all, and I know a few people think it is. I hate that a company would try to trick people into thinking the product they are using is healthy and natural.

Almost every ingredient on the bottle is a chemical. Even the ingredients that are natural are so far down the list that there is barely any of it actually in the product. Using chemical filled products is not only bad for your health, but can actually do more harm than good for you hair (or skin or whatever).

There are plenty of companies making products that are actually natural and organic that have argan oil in them, so they are next on my list. I am sure they will work much better, and make me feel better overall knowing I’m using a healthy product!

  1. I’m currently using the Awapuhi/Keratin one (the bottle is pink). I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. I just recently started trying this “not washing my hair every day thing”. I used to wash it, until a week or so ago, now I wash it every other day but I just feel weird. Maybe because I’m so used to washing it everyday?

    1. It could take awhile for your hair to start feeling normal. Because you were washing it everyday your hair acted a certain way, so now that you’ve changed what you’re doing it needs to figure itself out. Give it a few weeks and I’m sure it will be different!

  2. How funny… I literally have been using this same product (same size) the past 3 days and was going to post a review too! You beat me to it 🙂 I think we have a different take on the product though. I absolutely love it and don’t find it greasy at all. It doesn’t bother me that their name is Organix and they aren’t Organic. I feel it is the fault of the consumer for not doing their own research. But I do see how that could be frustrating. And it’s nice to see another perspective 🙂

    1. Well I’ve been using this for months, and didn’t start to notice the greasiness until I’d been using it for awhile. I’d be interested to see if you noticed a difference after awhile.

    1. Hah! I have their argan conditioner in my basket right now!! I decided I want to go to Whole Foods and smell them all before purchased on Vitacost. I have a bunch of half used shampoos that need to get used up but have no conditioner to go with them!
