Powders are probably my most finished make up item. I think that makes sense. I use a setting power every day to finish off my foundation, and usually end up adding a little more here and there throughout the day. Foundations take forever to get through, eyeshadows never end…but a setting powder usually gets used up within a few months. I just finished my Maybelline Dream Matte powder, and have now switched over to another matte drugstore powder, the Rimmel Stay Matte.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is a mattifying powder that minimizes shine and reduces pore size. I usually go for a matte powder, because NO one wants to be shiny. After applying foundation and concealer, I use setting powder on my t zone and under my eyes to keep everything in place.
The Stay Matte powder is very finely milled, so it sits really well on the skin and doesn’t look cakey or heavy.
The best to describe this powder is that it is easy. It just does what you want a setting powder to do! I think the Maybelline Dream Matte was a bit more mattefying, but that doesn’t matter because they DISCONTINUED IT. I’m still experimented with this powder, but so far I think it has been a good replacement.
I wish the packaging was a bit sturdier, because a lot of my powder have seen there last days after being dropped onto the floor. The top is a thin plastic that pops onto the bottom. I do like that the top is clear because you can see the color you’re buying when at the store.
Size wise (hehe that rhymed) it is about the same as your average powder. The product is .49 oz, and it’s only $5!!! So cheap, so easy. Like, why do any other powders exist?
Oh, and it is super pretty before you use it!
What is your favorite setting powder? I want to try some new ones!
