April Favorites 2014

soap and glory sugar crush

April favorites time…finally! Sorry this is up late, the week just really got away from me. The past month I found myself using a lot of the same things day after day, and they are products I for sure will be using  a lot over the next few months. It’s so great to find a product that you can love month after month. A few of these are actually old favorites, that I sort of rediscovered this month, which is so fun! It’s like shopping in your own closet.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Last Fall, I had this product in my wish list, and I finally got it! Oh boy was I a giddy little school girl when I saw this on the shelf at Sephora. This Soap and Glory body wash smells like limes and brown sugar, yum yum yum! It lathers really nicely but doesn’t dry out the skin. Oh and the packaging….just awesome. My boyfriend really likes this too, so we don’t have to have two body washes taking up space in the shower.

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Lavender Candle

Another wish list item…a Mrs. Meyers Candle. I had the basil scent a few months ago, but I am currently obsessed with the Lavender scent. I hate when my apartment smells like….anything other than a candle. I love the scent of lavender because it is calming and relaxing. I burn this candle for an hour or so almost every night before I got to bed.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

I am in love with all of the Real Techniques brushes, but this Buffing Brush is probably my most used one. I use this with my Laura Mercier Mineral Powder. The brush picks up the perfect amount of product and smooths it over the skin flawlessly. I find if a brush is too dense it smears the mineral make up around too much, and doesn’t let it melt into the skin. Real Techniques brushes are such a great price too.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

I picked this concealer up on a whim with a coupon, even though I really didn’t need any other concealers. I finally decided to open and boy am I glad that I did. The packaging has a foam top, which smooths the concealer on evenly. The twist up applicator dispenses the perfect amount of product. I was really surprised with the coverage and staying power considering it is a drugstore product. This will probably be my holy grail drugstore concealer!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

I love the Balm Stains from Revlon…I have 4, and want more. The shade Honey is a must have for me. I hadn’t picked up for a long time, but decided to throw it on one day when I couldn’t figure out what color to wear. The shade is just so perfect. It is almost a neutral, but just pink enough to add color to a look. If you don’t know what to wear, just wear Revlon Honey. Trust me, it’ll look great.

Tea Tree Therapy Tea Tree Oil

I’ve mentioned Tea Tree oil quite a lot on my blog, but after having some nasty skin this month, I think I should mention it again. Tea tree is a natural antiseptic which means it kills germs and fight bacteria, sort of like Neosporin, but natural. Whenever I have a spot on my face, I dap a little tea tree oil to cure it over night. Small spots disappear over night, while larger spots may take a few days. I find tea tree helps prevent scarring as well, which of course we all love. It can be used on cuts to, to speed along the healing process.

Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish in Porchester Square

I mentioned this nail polish in a post about my spring nail polish picks. Porchester Square is a mushroom-y grey shade. It is the perfect neutral shade because it isn’t too boring, but not too in your face either. The Gel Effect line from Nails Inc is supposed to be a gel manicure at home without a UV light. Really, it just lasts a bit longer than your usual manicure. I can get 2 weeks out of this nail polish pretty easily.
