March Birchbox 2014

march birchbox 2014

Yay! Birchbox! Actually. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I think I’m getting tired of Birchbox. Honestly, I just can’t deal with all of these samples anymore. I am definitely happy with this month’s box, but I think I would be just as happy with no box at all. I’m really loving a lot of the products I have right now, and would rather be using things I love than trying something new every week that may not work for me. If I were to count the amount of samples I have right now, I’d cringe.

This month’s theme is “Spring Forward” and like usual I don’t see much of a relation of the products to the theme. Everything I got is a moisturizer of some sort which is nice, because I have dry skin, but would have been nicer a few months ago in Winter.

Jergen’s BB Body- Alright, we’ve gone too far! I don’t like how this (or any Jergen’s product) smell. Jergen’s products have this floral, perfumey scent I’ve grown to dislike. I’d prefer an unscented body lotion. Like BB Creams, this is supposed to perfect things on my body or something. What? How? No.

Caudalie VinoSource- I’ve never tried anything from Caudalie, so I’m excited about this one. And it’s called VinoSource…Vino…Wine…?? I think there are grape extracts in this product, which I think is very chic. I have very dry skin, so anything that is supposed to keep me hydrated is up my alley!

Air Repair Rescue Balm- Let’s not talk about how much lip balm I have. I’m intrigued by this one by Air Repair though. The products are designed for people who travel (by plane) a lot, so they are very hydrated. The bottle is interesting though. I don’t really like applying lip balm with my fingers….

Coola Mineral Sunscreen- I actually received this product in an Ipsy bag once, and still haven’t used it. So now I have too. This product is a tinted matte sunscreen. My problem here is that if  want to wear sunscreen, I’ll wear sunscreen. If I want to wear make up, I’ll wear make up with SPF. It’s  not often I want some sort of sunscreen hybrid that has barely any coverage. Maybe in the summer I’ll use this by the pool? Whatever.

Agave Oil Treatment- I’ve actually been really wanting to try Agave oil, but didn’t want to make the investment if it was just like every other oil that is trending these days. This sample is small, but I think it will be enough for a few uses.

What did you get in your Birchbox this month? Do you think you’ll stick around?

  1. I haven’t gotten my box yet, but I hope I don’t get that Jergens BB Body–It’s coming in the Target Beauty Box I ordered. Usually it seems like Birchbox doesn’t have brands like Jergens? At least I’ve never gotten drugstore brands from them before.

  2. I totally feel the same as you…i’ve already cancelled my beauty box 5 and even thought this is only my 2nd birch box, i’m thinking about canceling it too oh and the Jergens stuff sucks btw 😉 lol

  3. The Jergen’s was the extra…it takes the place of the tea or chocolate. My reaction at first was the same, but I used it this morning and it’s surprisingly nice. I’m not running out to buy it, but this isn’t your typical Jergen’s. I don’t know about the smell though. It’s been ages since I have smelled Jergen’s.
