Favorite Things: Maybelline Color Tattoos

I think by the time you hit 4, you officially love something. There are very few beauty products I have repurchased or bought more than one of, so when I realize I have, I know it means it is a favorite.

I first tried the Maybelline Color Tattoos almost a year ago, and now I have four. I would purchase more, but a lot of colors aren’t really my style.

If you haven’t tried these yet, you’re missing out…and let me show you why!

As I said, I own four Maybelline Color Tattoos. Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe, Inked in Pink and Just Beige. I wouldn’t say I have a favorite necessarily, but I do tend to reach for the bronze and pink the most.

The 24hr staying power claim from Maybelline is pretty accurate. I have never needed to wear make up for that long….but I have worn them for almost 16 hours before. They stay all day, and even longer if you apply some powder eye shadow on top. I use different colors for different looks and applications. They are all very opaque but can be easily sheered out. I wish the color selection was a bit more neutral.

I have never had any problem with these. They are so easy to use, a little goes a long way, and they last all day. Maybelline knew what they were doing with these Color Tattoos.

Tough as Taupe is a matte, dark taupe color. When sheered out, I love this all over the lid, by itself. It is also a great base for greys and silvers. It really makes more metallic shades pop.

Bad to the Bronze is a dark bronze shimmer. This is my go to for an easy, quick look. It really doesn’t need anything else to make it look good. The shimmer adds just enough to spice up the look.

Just Beige I found this on a lonely shelf as CVS once, and it said it was limited edition. Then I never saw it anywhere again… The color is a matte creamy beige. It is perfect to conceal any veins in my eyes for a nude look, but works great as a base for any other color.

Inked in Pink is a light rosey pink metallic. At first I thought I hated how this looked on me, but then a few months ago I fell in love. I really loving pairing this with Stila Kitten for a more gold look. Don’t be afraid of the pink!

Do you have any favorite colors? Should I branch out to any other colors?

  1. I meant to buy bronze I walked our with pink. I’m an irresponsible shopper. The pink has grown on me and I do love the texture of this shadow. It’s definitely good stuff on the cheap. I have really oily eyelids though and it doesn’t stay on me as long as I would like. It usually winds up on my crease… Gross.

  2. Great post! I see these everywhere and had yet to try them, probably will pick them up next time I see them. How pink is the pink? I love pink but an leery of actually using it as an eyeshadow. Thanks for the information.

    1. It really isn’t too pink in my opinion. It can be put on more sheer for a more rosey gold look. If you top it with a shimmer champagne shadow it also will look less pink. Pick it up! It is always good to try new colors.

  3. Aren’t they awesome? They are my faves too! 😀 My fave colors are Tough as Taupe, Tenacious Teal, Silver Strike, and Gold Rush from the line. But I love all of them so much! 😀

  4. I also have 4 of these! I have bad to the bronze, barely branded, pomegranate punk (a beautiful plum with subtle golden shimmer) and bold gold. I would definitely recommend checking out the plum shade 🙂 Great post! xo

      1. Some if them actually pretty sheer. Bit I need to get some more in the permanent line. I have the bronze and rose one. Any recommendation?!
