I spent a week at home for the holidays, and it was filled with love and food and drink and drink. It was awesome. My mom is quite the chef, and I’m pretty sure a lot of her skill has rubbed off on me. I love cooking, but I still love having my mom cook for me!
My sister, mom and I are quite into cocktails these days, so we were drinking some shmancy drinks. The ingredients here turned into a clementine whiskey sour.
With a little Jewish blood, we love our Jewish food. My mom made like 50 rugelach.
The tree and a few little presents.
My dad by the fire with the cat.
The first round is done. These were gone in 2 hours.
Christmas morning my mom made an apple dutch baby with chedder cheese. I loved it because it wasn’t too sweet, but not savory either.
Christmas cocktail. Applejack and rose grenadine.
Mushrooms, cream, and lots of spices cooking away to become dinner.
My parents get these really cool mushrooms from a local farmer. These are roasted hen of the woods shrooms.
And there it is. Mushroom shepard’s pie with polenta.
We visited grandma.
And even my cousins were there!
I love this cat more than anything. She looks like a snail from above.
My dog is so dark it’s impossible to get a good picture of her.
These oranges were so pretty. They were turned into Winter citrus margaritas.
The best part. Vanilla ice cream with salted caramel sauce, chile chocolate sauce and smoked sea salt.
Oh these pets. I miss them so much when I leave!
