In high school and my first year of college, I drank about 2 cups off coffee a day. My caffeine addiction peaked when I was a freshman in college, when I drank 3-4. I’m not sure why or how it happened, but I am no longer a caffeine addict.
I think it started to happen when I moved into an apartment, and there wasn’t always coffee around, and the coffee maker did not work too well. Also, I was just so tired of always having to rely on caffeine to be a human.
A year or two ago, I realized I hadn’t had coffee in weeks, and instead tea was the source of my warm liquids
Now, I drink 4-5 cups of tea a day, but not all of them are caffeinated.
I like to start my day with a cup of green tea, have some black tea in the middle, and end with herbal tea. Depending on where I am and what I’m doing, a few extra cups get thrown into the mix.
I try to drink a cup of green tea everyday for its health benefits. It has a lot of antioxidants which are good for my skin and should help me live forever.
I love a cup of peppermint tea or chamomile tea at night. I find them really relaxing and always sleep better after I’ve had a cup. Peppermint is also really good for stomachaches, which I have a tendency to get!
Even though I have a lot of types of tea right now, I don’t think I have enough! I love being able to choose something different to drink every time I’m craving a cup.
Not having to rely on caffeine to feel awake has made my life so much easier. I don’t have to worry about finding coffee while on vacation or staying at a friends house. I sleep better, I feel less anxious. It’s awesome!
