We all know Lush makes AMAZING bath bombs, but behind that row of rainbow colored, sweet scented bombs of relaxation, lay shelves and shelves of other body care items. I never bothered to pick up any of these items because they were a bit expensive and I found a lot of the scents to be really overpowering.
My love for tea tree oil has been expressed a few times on this here blog, so I decided to hop into the Lush store and expand that love a little further. The Lush Tea Tree water is a spray toner, with tea tree oil, and other natural oils. Tea tree oil is really great for acne prone skin. I picked this up for the days when my skin is overreacting, rather than covering my face in oil.
My first complaint about this product is the spray nozzle. The spray comes out a bit too strong. After I spray it on my face, I have to wait a few minutes for it to dry. Another spray toner I have comes out in much more of a mist, which I prefer.
Another complaint, there are parabens in this product. For a ‘natural’ company, I found this really surprising. Parabens are used as a preservative in products. While some say they are fine to use, parabens have been found in breast cancer tissue. I’m not scientist, so I don’t want to go into too much detail, but look it up if you want more info.
I don’t think this product works as well as pure tea tree oil, but it isn’t all bad. I love how it smells, very refreshing. Whether I use it in the morning or night, it feels very spa like to spray it on. The Michael Todd Cranberry toner I use can be a bit drying. When my skin is extra dry, I find the Tea Tree toner to be more hydrating.
For the $10 I spent on this, I guess it’s worth it. But I like my rosewater toner more, and it’s cheaper.
What Lush bodycare do you use? I want to try more, but there are just so many!!
