Every month I think, I barely finished anything this month! And then I empty out the bag I throw empty products in and realize it’s FULL. And yet, my medicine cabinet and bathroom drawers are still packed to the brim with unused products. Admittedly, not all of these products are completely empty, some are dried up or just getting old, and need to be gone. I’m trying hard to finish products so they can be replaced with more natural options, but boy is it taking forever!
Organix Shampoo and Conditioner in Moroccan Argan Oil (mini): This is my absolute favorite drugstore shampoo. It smells amazing and leaves my hair silky smooth. I bought these mini ones for a trip over the summer, and just finished them up during a week at the boyfriend’s house. I would refill them, but the hole is too tiny and it got messy. Already have full sizes of these in my shower!
Organix Shampoo in Vanilla Silk: This is my shampoo at my mom’s house. The scent of this is also amazing, very vanilla but not too sweet. I think the Moroccan Argan Oil scent does more for my hair though.
Miss Jessie’s Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo Sample: I got this sample from a Miss Jessie’s order I placed a few weeks ago. The scent was a little too artificial and sweet for me. The product worked pretty well though, my hair definitely got very clean.
Miss Jessie’s Super Sweetback Treatment Sample: This sample was from a Birchbox, and I used it following the other sample. While this also had a strong scent, I didn’t mind it as much. The product is super thick, so it didn’t just slip out while I left it working in my hair. My hair instantly felt so smooth and detangled. Definitely need to buy a tub of this, for those days when my hair is out of control.
Simple Cleansing Wipes: I’ve talked about this a million times and yes, I’m still using them. A pack only lasts about a month, so I’m always buying them. I’m on my last pack in my stash right now and I’m not sure if I should buy more! Wipes are so bad for the environment…
Karuna Clarifying Sheet Mask: I had never used a sheet mask before this, and I don’t think I liked it. The mask was way too big for my face and kept slipping off. It was very wet, making it heavy. I had to sit completely still or it would pull and slip. My skin did not feel any bit different after use, but it smelled nice.
DDF Acne Control Treatment: I don’t know what ingredient it was, but my skin kept breaking out when I used this! I probably used half the mini tube before giving up. I usually don’t break out anywhere except my chin, and my face was just a mess using this. Wish I knew why my skin hated it so much.
Chapstick Medicated Lip Balm: I think I bought this about 2 years ago when my lips were so chapped nothing would help. It worked pretty well at keeping my lips hydrated, but I have a lip balm addiction so I put it on multiple times a day no matter what. It is very mentholy which I got tired of pretty quickly. While I liked it, I’m glad I finished it.
Burt’s Bees Rhubarb Lip Shimmer: I don’t even want to think about how long I’ve had this, but I’m sad I finished it! I loved the color it gave. It was a deep red that looked very natural, and went on perfectly sheer. This was great to have in my purse and put on when I needed a little moisture and a little color.
Yaby Concealer: This came in an Ipsy bag over the summer. Originally I really liked it. It covered spots well, blended into foundation and stayed all day. After a few months of use, it got very thick and hard to use. It also looked kind of gross. I decided it was just time to say goodbye.
Enzo Perfume Sample: I really hate perfume samples, but I thought I would give this one a shot for a week. I actually really liked the scent, but I don’t think I would buy a full size. It smelled a lot like a cologne, which I really like. I love musky, manly scents. This sample came in a mini spray bottle which was awesome too.
Deborah Lippmann Addicted to Speed Top Coat: This dried up!! I’m so sad. It was barely half used, and now it is a thick goopy mess. It isn’t even a year old, so I’m not sure what happened. The times I did use, it definitely worked well, but I think there are cheaper alternatives.
Sally Hansen Insta Dri: This is a cheaper alternative to the above. I’ve been using this top coat on and off for years. It dries so quick and super shiny. It is only a few dollars from the drugstore, so it isn’t as sad when it starts to dry up.
Orly Bonder: I can’t believe how long this base coat lasted me! I feel like I’ve had it for ever. The bottle is huge! This base coat works so so so well. My nails barley chipped once I started using this. If you have trouble with manicures lasting, go buy this!
Wheww!! That was a lot of stuff. Glad I can now through all of those in the trash! Hopefully I can finish a lot of stuff this month too, and start 2014 off with brand new products! Did you finish anything this month?
