Despite my ridiculous collection of make up, there are a few products I reach for the most. Some are drugstore, and some are a bit more high end, which I think is the perfect way to approach make up. Not everything needs to be expensive to work. And not everything cheap doesn’t work. These are the products I reach for on a daily basis, and could easily live off of for a week. I didn’t include any lip products because I really use different ones everyday depending on my outfit. Same goes for blush!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: On a good skin day, I always reach for tinted moisturizer. Why cake on make up when I don’t need it? The Laura Mercier TM is known across the beauty world, and for good reason. It applies smoothly, lasts a long time, and just feels really great on the skin. A little concealer on top and I’m good to go. Also, the bottle lasts forever, so don’t be scared of the price tag.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch: Everyone wants to look awake all the time even thought they aren’t. This highlighting concealer goes under the eyes, making them look more awake and fresh. It blends in well, and doesn’t crease as long as you make sure it is applied evenly. I wear this every single day no matter what.
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder: I don’t have very oily skin, but after a few hours, a little shine can show up here and there. For just a few bucks at the drugstore, the Dream Matte powder really is a dream. It is very finely milled so no worries about looking cakey. I just apply a little on my t-zone and I know I’ll be shine free all day.
NARS Smudge Proof Primer: First off, I’ve had this for almost a year and it is still going strong. When I wear eyeshadow all day, it tends to crease, but with this NARS product on, my eye look stays flawless all day long. I was impressed with it right away. A little dab covers the whole eye, and blends in to the skin well. I don’t think I need to try another primer every again.
Urban Decay Blunt: I’ve had this little baby since high school. And pale gold all over the lid has been my go to look for years. It’s just so easy. It isn’t too shimmer and it isn’t too pale. It brightens up the eye amazingly. I love Urban Decay shadows, always have, always will.
Urban Decay Naked Basics: If I want to wear UD Blunt, but want it to be more interesting, then the Naked Basics palette comes into play. This was designed by the make up gods. It has a perfect shade range to take every look from day to night. It can easily be worn on it’s own as well. A few shadows and this palette, and you won’t need anything else.
MAC 217 Brush: To use the above mentioned shadows, I always reach for my MAC 217 brush. It pats on shadow, it blends it out, it applies highlight…it’s a Renaissance Man. I reach for this everyday. I think I may need to buy a second one so I always can have a clean one at hand. MAC brushes are really worth the money, I really suggest trying one!
Rimmel Waterproof Kohl in Nude: I used to wear black or brown liner on my water line every day. My mom told me to wear nude liner all the time, but I never listened. When I heard these Rimmel liners were really amazing, I figured I’d try one out. Now, I use it everyday. Nude liner makes my eyes look bigger, which makes me look more awake. The Rimmel formula is really creamy, a really great product for little money.
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara: I think this is the closest I’ll ever come to the perfect mascara. This mascara really does crush those clumps. It separates my lash more than any product I’ve ever used. Two coats and my lashes look thicker and fuller. I can’t believe it took me so long to jump on the bandwagon with this.
Maybelline Great Lash Clear: I have pretty thick brow naturally, so I don’t usually fill them in. I do like to keep them in place though. This product is just a clear gel. I apply it to my brows to keep the hairs where I want them. It lasts all day and is so much cheaper than a brow gel.
