Masks, my favorite of my Sunday Rituals. After a day of cleaning, grocery shopping and intense hair washing, it feels great to end the day with a mask. I have two that I am currently using. One for acne, oily skin days (Elizabeth Arden Clear the Way Mask) and one for dry, dull skin days (Michael Todd Avocado and Mango Mask). I have weird skin, that can change completely day to day based off the weather and my activities.
I’ve been using these two for a few months now and I’ve been liking the results. I think a weekly mask is so necessary not only for my skin, but for my well being. I can always tell when it has been too long since I did a mask!
Michael Todd Organics Avocado and Mango Mask: This is my hydrating mask. Avocados are naturally oily, and mangoes…smell awesome? It is a thin consistency, and a bright mango orange color. When I put it on, it honestly looks like I got a terrible spray tan on just my face, but it washes off! It is very gentle, and keeps my dull skin more plump and dewey. I also love that this is a more natural product, it feels more luxurious on a Sunday evening!
Elizabeth Arden Clear the Way Mask: One thing that is cool about this product is that it can also be used as an exfoliator. The product is a thick white paste, with small granules. Since I don’t ever have super oily skin, but do tend to break out, this mask is a great one. It isn’t too powerful, so my skin doesn’t get too dry, but it does help clear things up. I’m not a huge fan of clay masks, and this feels like a clay masks, but doesn’t make my skin feel tight.
I’m still on the search for the most perfect mask. I want something that deep cleans my pores, since my skin tends to feel congested. Any suggestions?
