It’s that time of year where my body just thrists for moisture. My whole life I’ve had really dry skin on my whole body. Oatmeal baths were a common occurrence. Always wore pants in gym class because my skin looked like a lizard. Moisturizing body washes are a must. Now that I’m older, and I know my skin better, it isn’t as bad. I moisturize daily, and usually twice.
Here are the current body lotions taking the main stage on my skin. I’m hoping to cut down soon, by finding one that works for every need, rather than having a bunch of body lotion clutter.
Nip + Fab Mango Smoothie: First things first…This. Smells. Amazing. It’s sweet, yet sour…I could smell it all day. This is a pretty thick body butter, but it melts into the skin really well. I like using this in the morning so I smell like mangos all day, but I think I actually use it most often when I shower at night. I find the scent just so delicious, it is a great night time treat. Nip + Fab is a British company, but I found their products at Target.
Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Lotion: This is the thickest of my lotions, and the newest. I bought this because it doesn’t have any harmful chemicals, and shea butter is supposed to be the best for dry skin. I use this when I notice my skin is extra dry. Since it is so thick, it really helps lock in moisture. The scent on this is nice, but really strong. I wish it was unscented, but I can deal with it for now.
Jason Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel: This was my go to lotion over the summer. Everyone knows aloe is great for sunburns, but it is great in the sun for other reasons. Aloe is an amazing natural lotion, and I found it was perfect for after sun and pool use. It also really helped extend my tan. Now that it is fall, I use this after the shower when I have time to let it really sink into my skin. Also it is unscented, so it is nice to have a change.
Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15: For when my skin is going to be exposed to the sun, this is always my go to. I try really hard to wear SPF everyday, and I used to always forget to put sunscreen on. Having a body lotion with SPF helps me remember. Other than that, this is a really nice light moisturizer with no scent. It is a good go to, everyday lotion.
