I decided it is time to show you my trash.
I used to think the idea of ’empties’ or ‘products I’ve used up’ posts were weird…but now I get it. The best way to know if you really like a product is to use all of it. This month, I managed to finish more products than I usually do. Since I moved earlier this month, I’m trying to scale back a bit because I don’t have a huge amount of bathroom storage. I’m currently trying to just finish things, and only buy what I need. It’s hard…
I finished up 2 packs of face wipes. The first one was the Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes. At first, I really hated these. The smell of witch hazel was so strong that they were really difficult to use. I stopped using them as cleansing wipes for my face and started using them for my body instead. I go to the gym in the mornings a lot, and used these to freshen up after I rolled out of bed. They worked well for that, but I wouldn’t repurchase. The second pack was the Blum Naturals Dry and Sensitive Skin Towelettes. The smell on these was also strong, but not as bad. I liked that these had textured wipes which helped get rid of make up, but the towelettes weren’t wet enough. I found these at TJ Maxx, and if I saw them again I’d probably pick them up.
Also along the lines of cleansing was a bottle of the Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. This was one of the make up removers that has two different liquids you shake up. I really liked how this performed, but I think the Lancome one works better. It was a bit expensive compared to the performance. I think most eye make up removers work pretty well though, but I also don’t usually wear waterproof make up.
On to hair! This sample of Miss Jessie’s Rapid Recovery Treatment was awesome! I love hair mask samples. This made my hair very soft and managable. Unlike the next empty, mop Extreme Moisture. This is a deep conditioner I got last winter to help salvage my sad, sad hair. When my hair was super dry, this helped, but once spring started and the air was less dry, it did nothing for me. Smelled good though! Now on to the Violet Oasis Argan Oil. I’m just starting to understand the world of hair oils. One day, after a shower I put this on my hair, let it hair dry, and that was it. I looked in the mirror and was amazed that my hair actually looked really good! I have very frizzy hair and this helped keep that at bay. I loved everything about it except it was very liquidy making it a little hair to handle straight out of the bottle.
These CVS Deep Cleaning Pore Strips are the same thing as the Biore ones. I used this every few weeks, and was always so surprised how well they worked. They really help get the gunk out of your pores you didn’t even know was there. I feel more clean after using these than masks ever do.
I’ve got a lot of samples in here. I finished the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream. This was a very rich cream for sensitive skin. I liked it, but honestly thought it was nothing special. If it were cheaper, I’d buy it again, but it is overpriced for what it is.
I’m going to miss this L’Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath. I love taking baths and add stuff to them to make them more luxurious. This made the bath so foamy and smell like fresh lavender plants. The small bottle I had lasted a while, but I think I need to get the full sized one this time around.
Last but not least, the only make up product in this trash pile. The Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel. Before this I never touched my eyebrows, now I’m obsessed. This gel helped keep my eyebrows in place all day, which I didn’t realize was something I needed to be done. I replaced this with the Maybelline Clear Mascara which works exactly the same. I don’t think it is necessary to get an expensive one.
So that was WAY too much trash for this month. In the future it will be a lot less probably. I just happened to be on the last leg of a lot of products.
