Last week I mentioned a great beauty deal at Sephora that I scored. I had 500 points, and if you spent more than $25 you got a free bareMinerals package. There was a specific item I’d been lusting for, and with a free package plus a 500 points package…I couldn’t resist! So today I share with you, Dior Addict Lip glow, Bobbi Brown to go and a bareMinerals package. I gave myself a few days with the products to give a full review. Let’s go!
Dior Lip Glow is $31. Dior Lip Glow is a lip balm. Dior Lip Glow is $31. Dior Lip Glow magically changes colors when you apply it to make the perfect shade of pink and comes in beautiful Dior packaging. I didn’t need this. Yes I did.
I was going to buy Sephora’s version of this product for half the price…but when I realized if I spent $25 I could get a free gift I thought….heyyyy might as well!
Dior Lip Glow is a lip palm that detects the pH of your body and changes color to the “perfect” shade of pink for your skin tone. I’m pretty sure it turns to the same color for everyone, but it doesn’t change the fact that it actually is amazing.
First of all, it is moisturizing. And that is very important. It sits on the lips so you have a glossy finish, but some of it does sink in to moisturize. What is crazy, is it actually does change color when you apply it. It takes a few seconds, but it works. The first few times I used it I didn’t really notice it, but then once day I put it on and was like OMG THIS IS AWESOME.
It is expensive. I know. But, I’m hooked. When in class, it is awesome to put lip balm on, but also get the slightest bit of color. Also, I kind of really like wearing it before the gym to make me look a little more together.
This bareMinerals package was free with a $25 purchase. I’d never tried any of these products, so I thought this was a nice way to try them rather than spending money on them. The gift came with a small sample of the original bareMinerals foundation, and Stroke of Light eye brightener. A small kabuki brush was included also, but it is way to small to really be effect for the whole face.
So far, I’m liking the foundation for under my eyes. It is light weight, with a little bit of coverage and shimmer. When I try to apply it on my whole face, I feel like it gives barely any coverage. Admittedly, it is a little hard to use because the container is so small, but I am definitely getting a feel for the product. It’s messy. I think if I really wanted to try this foundation I would get the compact version.
Stroke of Light is pretty much your typical under eye brightener. The shade is nice for brightness to make me look more well rested which I love. It is a bit thick though. When I look close in a mirror I can see there is product under my eyes. I prefer something lighter weight, because my under eyes tend to crease.
Now for the magical Bobbi Brown 500 point gift. This was my first time getting a 500 point gift, took me a while to rack up the points. Considering 500 points really means $500, I wish the items were bigger, but it doesn’t change the fact that I love them.
The Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long Wear Mascara is my new favorite ever. I wish it didn’t cost $25 for a full tube. The wand separates my lashes like a DREAM. No clumps here! My lashes are long, separated, and perfectly coated in the right amount of mascara. The wand is also on the smaller side making it easy to use for both top and bottom lashes.
The hydrating eye cream is a favorite in the beauty world. While the container I was given is small, it will be enough to last a while considering I don’t use a lot at one time. I’ve only used it for a few days, but I’m not too impressed. Maybe the eye cream I was already using was awesome enough? Maybe My eyes don’t need as much moisture as I thought? For what its worth, it is a really nice cream. I’m just not sure it would be worth the full price. ($49!!!)
Now for the star of the show. The palette. The blush is ‘Pale Pink’ which is an understatement. It is…pretty bright. But I love it! It is a really flattering color and applies really well. Also in the palette are 4 eyeshadows that are amazing for an easy eye look. ‘Bone’ is an ivory highlight color perfect for the brow bone. ‘Heather Mauve’ is a shimmery taupe, with a bit more purple too it. It can go on sheer or heavy for a different effect. I love it all over the lid. It has just the right amount of sparkle. The last two colors are ‘Saddle’ and ‘Mahogany’. Both are great crease shades. Saddle is a matte dark taupe, which blends greatly with Heather Mauve. Mahogany is a bit darker, which helps darken the look up for a more night time look, or used as an eyeliner. This palette is going to be great for traveling, so happy with it!
