Rant or Rave: Make Up Forever Pro Finish Foundation

Once upon  a time I got a sample of the Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi Use Foundation. (What a name!) I didn’t really think much about, and for the next few days used it as a replacement for whatever power I was currently using. Then, I looked in the mirror. Because it is a foundation powder, it is more pigmented than a finishing powder, making your skin look more flawless when used. It seemed like something that would be great over BB Creams or tinted moisturizers, or even regular foundation if you want to look super flawless.

I bought a full size, and got to work right away figuring out the best way to use this product. I’m still having trouble figuring out what brush to use. It is very powdery, so too dense of a brush doesn’t pick up the product. Too fluffy of a brush doesn’t apply enough product to make a difference.

You are also supposed to be able to use it wet (multi use), but I haven’t tried that yet. I don’t want to get it wet because that can change how it works dry.

On days I’m not really doing anything, but end up going out quickly to grab lunch or buy milk I usually put tinted moisturizer on. I really love how it looks putting this over top compared to regular powder. It adds just enough coverage so I don’t look gross, and keeps me very matte.

I look forward to experimenting with this product more, but honestly I’m not in love. Something about the sample I had was more amazing to me.

Have you ever used this product? Any suggestions on application?

  1. Hello there! This blog post could not be written any better!
Reading through this post reminds me of my previous roommate!

He continually kept preaching about this. I am going to send this post to
him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thanks
    for sharing!

  2. I know that I’m reading this very late in the scheme of things. If you haven’t already found a good application method, may I suggest using a Beauty Blender? I use it with a sort of “push and roll” technique. It allows the powder to sink into the skin, and then rolling as you pull up dissipates any build up or uneven lines that may form. The final look is always flawless. Love this foundation powder. I agree with you on the name….it’s a tad long. LOL. Hope this helped. Sorry it’s late. I just found you! 🙂

    1. I sometime use a sponge to apply it, but I find it looks blotchy!! I don’t have a beauty blender, so maybe thats the problem. I’ve gotta get one of those… I just use different brushes depending on whats clean, and haven’t too much of a problem using it. I kind of apply it like I would a mineral powder. Thanks for the help!!
