Monday Mani September 16th

Some how, it is already the middle of September. I usually think  of September as one of my favorite months, but I feel like I haven’t even had time to realize it is September yet! Today is a rainy monday. Construction going on outside at the apartment next door, a repairman is here fixing my stove, and I start school in a week.

I’m not ready for pumpkin bread and vampy nails, so I’m keeping the manicure fresh this week. Deborah Lippmann’s “Let’s Here it for the Boy” is one of my all time favorite polishes. It is from her ‘Footloose’ collection, and Footloose (THE ORIGINAL!!) is one of my favorite movies. (Guilty pleasures…) It’s a pale, light blue, with a tint of something else too it I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s almost a periwinkle..with maybe a ting of grey to it? Whatever. The formula is amazing, very creamy, opaque in two coats. Today, I added Revlon “Whimsical” on top, which is pretty much an exact dupe of Deborah Lippmann’s “Glitter in the Air” but only cost $5. It is a blue and pink glitter polish suspended in a very translucent blue base. I like how this polish is not too in your face with glitter. I need to wear it more.

Since it is still summer break, my boyfriend and I have been trying to enjoy our free time. We went to South Street and found this amazing antique lighting store. I couldn’t believe how much stuff was in there!

My favorite restaurant in the world is Nomad Pizza. They have a location near my cousins house in NJ and just opened this shop on South Street last year. It’s the best. Just looking at this picture I want more.

For Friday the 13th we went to Eastern State Penitentiary. I’ve been here a few times, but it gets better every year! If by chance you living the Philadelphia area, or anyway even remotely close, you have to come. It’s only $12, and you get to see so much!

There was a big thunderstorm the other day, and this branch fell from the tree outside right in our walkway to the laundry. Pretty scary considering I was told the tree had been pruned the week before. I’m nervous more will fall if there is another bad hurricane like last year’s Sandy.

My mom bought me purple potatoes from the farmer’s market. When I cut them up for dinner I realized they matched my cutting board and knife perfectly. I love things like this.

I had my grad school orientation this week. I got to upgrade my DragonCard, so now I have a slightly more decent picture. At least it is shinier.

I went home for a day to go to the doctor, and spent some time reading on the porch. I absolutely love reading on my parent’s porch, especially when it is a beautiful day out.
