Travel-Size Product Haul

This summer I have been traveling around a lot more than usual. Philly to NYC to NJ to Philly to Michigan…and in a few weeks to San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver for vacation!! Rather than bringing my full sized products around with me, I decided to have a little fun and buy a few new travel sized items. Some of these are products I’ve never tried, some I have. It’s important to me to always have everything I need. If I’m on vacation I want to feel comfortable and relaxed, and since I seem to be a bit high maintenance in the beauty department, I needed to stock up.

Birchbox: Suki Exfoliating Foaming Scrub

I got this in my June Birchbox, and was really excited. First off, it smells delicious. Lemongrass extract and natural sugars create a refreshing exfoliating experience. Since it comes in this tiny little jar, it is perfect for traveling. I don’t need too much to travel with since I only exfoliate a few times week. Once I finish up the product I can refill the jar with whatever exfoliator I have around.

Sephora: Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser

A year or so ago I picked up one of these in the travel size, and the top broke after just a few uses, thus getting product EVERYWHERE. I really liked it, but it is a bit expensive so I never bothered repurchasing it. I couldn’t find a cleanser I liked in travel size anywhere else, so I splurged a little and got a new jar. This cleanser is just so smooth and gentle, with a light refreshing scent. It does a good job of getting off any extra make up and leaves skin feeling smooth.

Harmon’s: Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

This is already my favorite shampoo and conditioner, and I easily could have just bought small plastic bottles and filled them up…but these tiny bottles are just so cute! Over the years, I have never found a shampoo and conditioner I like better than this one. It makes my hair smell great and curl better. It is super moisturizing which is perfect for my dry curly hair. These small bottles won’t last me long, but I can now just re use these bottles by filling them up with my full size bottles.

CVS: Lumene Firming Day Cream and Night Cream

A few months ago I discovered Lumene products at CVS. I thought they all sounded really interesting with their weird ingredients and the fact that they are Scandinavian. First I picked up the Pure Radiance Day Cream with Vitamin C. And OMG does it make my skin feel good. I noticed these 2 jars were on sale at CVS so I thought I’d pick them up to try out more products. These are just as great. They feel light weight on the skin which is amazing for hot weather. The day time cream has SPF 15 which is a must for me. The fact that they are “firming” is hard to test since I’ve only been using them on and off for a month, but it is always good to know I’m putting something age defying on my face.

Bean’s Beauty: Davines Lovely Curl Enhancing Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve read a number of times that this is supposed to be the best shampoo and conditioner for curly hair. But….it’s like $20 a bottle…each. I couldn’t get myself to pay that much for something without trying it first, but I couldn’t find anywhere that sold it to get a sample! Then, while out on a travel sized hunt, I popped into one of my favorite local beauty stores, Bean’s. Right when I walked in I noticed a shelf of travel sized high end shampoos….and then there it was. Two little bottles of the Lovely Curl Enhancing Shampoo and Conditioner. They were still $10 a bottle, but at least it was a little cheaper. Hopefully I’ll love them and they will change my life forever. Hopefully I won’t love them so I won’t have to spend $40 on shampoo and conditioner.

The Body Shop: Mango Body Butter, Sweet Lemon Shower Gel, Coconut Body Scrub

Last but not least, I needed some body products. I haven’t bought anything from the Body Shop in years, but decided I’d pop in. To my luck, they were having a sale on some of there mini items! I picked up a few delicious smelling items. After a long day on vacation, lathering myself in lemon, scrubbing myself with coconut and moisturizing myself with mango is going to be AMAZING. Also, all of these containers can also easily be reused once they are empty! I now think I’m hooked on The Body Shop, and want to buy every body butter.
