Last week I graduated from college! The whole week before I’d been out celebrating with friends, usually outside, so I hadn’t been wearing much make up. (Sweaty, melty make up is not good look.) So when gradation day came I was looking forward to playing around with (long wearing) make up. I’m really happy with how the look came out, and lasted. I got ready around 1:15pm and went to bed at 6am (OMG I KNOW) and honestly, when I got home I couldn’t believe how good my face still looked!
I curled my hair with a 1.5 inch wand. I left a good 4 or 5 inches curl free on top so that the cap would fit better. In terms of make up, most importantly I wore good old Revlon ColorStay. You know that stuff is supposed to last 24 hours…and I got pretty close to testing that. It still looked near flawless at 6am. I also went with my trusty NARS Orgasm and Laguna, since I know they work well and show up in pictures. Eye make up wise, I know you can’t really see it, but I did a smoky eye with the Naked Basics palette and Laura Mercier shadow in Plum Smoke. On the lips, Revlon Primrose. I wanted something subtle and that wouldn’t clash with navy blue/yellow gold. I reapplied a lot throughout the day though because it is not a long wearing color.
My dress was from Macy’s by Kensie. I wanted a dress that was white/off white/beige…something neutral, and something simple. I have so many dresses I buy and never wear again. I thought this dress could easily be manipulated into day or night. The belt was from The Limited. It added the perfect pop of color, and I love bows.
These are going to pictures I love for a really long time. The whole look came out just how I wanted. Can’t wait till I have a reason to dress up again!
