Rant or Rave: Loreal Magic Nude Foundation

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

In the never ending search for the perfect foundation, I’ve made it a little closer. This Loreal foundation came out over the summer. I was intrigued by the ‘liquid powder’ formula so I decided to give it a try.  While the formula took a little getting used too, I was converted.

The formula is very liquidy, which is messy, but worth it. It smooths onto the skin without feeling heavy. There are no streaks and it blends really easily. As you blend it out and let it set, it turns into a powdery feel. This makes it really light weight on the skin. It has medium coverage with a natural finish, so it looks like skin, not like make up.

The packaging looks nice, but isn’t the best. The bottle is glass which feels nice in your hands and looks nice on your vanity. It’s a shame there isn’t a pump though. Because the product is so liquidy, it is really hard to control the amount that comes out. You really don’t need a lot of product to cover your face. A lot of time I feel like I waste product because more comes out of the bottle than necessary.

I use a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or my fingers to apply. Both give the same type of coverage and finish, but the brush is just easier. When I use my fingers it can get messy. Depending on how much time I have to get ready I use one or the other.

Overall, I’m really happy with this foundation. It was my go to over the summer. I was really tan when I bought it, so now the color is a bit too dark for me. Since it blends well, I can still use it, but I think it would be easier to just use a lighter foundation. It lasts all day, and makes skin look so beautiful.

I definitely suggest this if you notice it at the drug store. It may take getting used too, but it’ worth it!
